My ex isnt paying for his kids, and the state wont do anything about it??????????/?
My ex has paid 419 dollars to me in 6 years for 3 kids, he is ordered to pay 300 per month. He is over 16,000 in arearages, and the local child support office basically told me there is nothing they can do because he is self employed and pays when he can. Although I know for a fact that he is self employed and makes $60,000 a year. All of his assets are in his fiancee's name. Child support enforcement agency in Ohio is trying to make me out to be the bad person, told me to stop calling because there is nothing they can do, and that the arearages do not matter. ????????? I dont understand how they can be so heartless towards me, and my children someone anyone please give me some good legal advice ... Thanks!!!

State agencies are understaffed, short of funds, and have a hard time tracking the self-employed. They go after the employed -- more bang for their bucks & time.
Hire an attorney. What have you been waiting for all this time? Should have done it years ago. Stop allowing this nonsense to continue! Hire an attorney, take him to court. He will have to reveal all his income and assets, including those he puts in someone else's name. Get a court order to attach his earnings, bank account, business bank account, etc. Get going!
While you're at it, make sure you get legal fees & collection costs and up the monthly amount to account for increases in the costs of food, medical care, etc, over the intervening years. $300/month is a pittance. Depending on where you live and costs there, $300/week for 3 kids ($100/wk/kid)makes more sense.

His arrears don't matter?
They're smoking crack.
His arrears can keep from getting a passport, can get his drivers license revoked in some states, suspended in others. His arrears can be paid through IRS returns if he gets returns. His arrears can get his professional licenses suspended in some states. In some states, his arrears can get him thrown in jail.
Contact an attorney, your child support division people, or at least the ones you have talked to, are idiots. Have you asked to speak with a supervisor?

Place your children on Medicaid and food stamps. Once government money is involved, the child support collection agency will be much more aggressive with collection.

They're right. They have explained the law to you and you don't want to listen. This man has found a loophole and they can't do anything about it. They are not heartless. They are bound by the law, and can't do anything else. Your constant harassment of them serves no purpose other than alienate them.

if there is nothing they can do, then its time you did something, go to school ? look for a better job ?.....
I know a guy who owns 40.000 dollars....(and I also know he will never pay it) as it is clear your ex is never going to pay...you've wasted 6 years, time you moved on and tried to make a better life for your self and kids
