Has anyone ever had, or heard of, a cat who tries to knead with all four paws at the same time?

Our Tanner has begun trying to knead with all four paws at the same time and he is having a lot of trouble doing it - as I would have expected.

He gets in a cat bed and begins kneading one side of the bed with his front paws and then tries to knead on the other side of the bed with his back paws.

He will get it right for one or two motions and then he gets out of sync and falters with his back paws.

If he concentrates on his back paws, he can get a fairly good motion set up but looses it when he tries to resume kneading with this front paws.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of another cat who tries to do this?

If so, was the cat able to do it very well?

I have never seen another cat even try to knead with all four paws at the same time and we have had, counting Tanner, 26 cats over the past 22 years.

Perhaps it takes a newer model cat with Full Time 4Paw Kneading to be able to successfully do this?

Tanner is 3 years old, he's a 2006 DSH. Maybe that option wasn't available when he was born.

Or maybe it was only available on models constructed at the main factory. Tanner was a feral, constructed on-site in a storage shed in the back lot of a business.

Has anyone heard if the 2010 or 2011 model cats will have this Full Time 4Paw Kneading feature?

Is there any after market accessory I can get for Tanner to implement the Full Time 4Paw Kneading feature?

Seriously - has anyone ever seen or heard of this? A cat trying to knead with all four paws at once???

Lol...No I've never heard of that. My cat only seems to knead when she's in my lap and that's only with two paws. The 2009 model I came in contact with seemed to have increased vertical climbing ability but that was about it.

My Persephone (RIP) did that! She was obsessed with kneading my sweaters, pushing them all around as she did so - using all 4 feet.

The sweater usually ended up in a big wad. So I don't know if that counts for doing it very well! She did ruin a lot of sweaters...

She was the only cat I have known to do that. She was a cat with many issues which I believe were the result of too early separation from her family. She was discarded at about 5 weeks. I think the bizarre kneading behavior was part of it.

Maybe you could get Tanner a mini wine making kit? Or he could launch his own homemade cat biscuit line?

Yes, two of my cats kneaded with all four paws. It certainly looks funny, doesn't it? Just smile when he does it and realize that he's happy.
