What's a good higher protein breakfast, that's not eggs?
I don't necessarily want JUST protein, but more protein than not. Something quick (of course), maybe even something I can make ahead. Any suggestions?
Oh, and I already have down as an option protein shakes. I like those, but I will probably want something to actually chew. And I don't make my protein shakes thick enough that you would need to chew them :)
Here's why I thumbs downed the ones I did.
Can't eat JUST bacon, or any other breakfast meat. Looking for a meal, not an item.
Smoked salmon is too expensive to eat three or four days a week.
And tofu is just plain nasty. And I don't eat cereal, so soy milk would just go to waste.
Yes, leftovers from the main meal the day before are usually a staple for me too. Just looking for other peoples suggestions as well.
Not sure who gave the rest of the thumbs down - but it wasn't me.
Perfection: Because I don't want to see answers that I won't use. I'm trying to get ideas here.
And it's just a thumbs down. It's not like you're loosing money because I thumbs downed you. Or are being electrocuted or something! Stop taking YA so seriously.

Smoothie with 1/3 cup of whey or hemp protein. Or add the powdered protein to yogurt.
Beans, brown rice, salsa on tortilla. Use low sodium canned beans, cook rice night before, make salsa (or good bottled brand), add a little cheese.
Leftover chicken stir-fry.
Tuna burger - 1 can tuna, 4 TB flour, 1 egg (optional), mix, make a patty and fry in a little olive oil. I make night before and reheat in small pan while getting ready to go.
High protein, low salt veggie burgers. Buy a high protein, low sugar bread (won't be cheap) to use with burgers.
Remember you can eat anything for breakfast, not just breakfast foods.I have leftover beef stew, chili (great), chicken and broccoli pizza, fish fillets. I'm from the South, where fried pork chops and fried chicken are breakfast staples.
I was told to eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.

Tofu is very high in protein, actually higher than steak! Try making a tofu smoothie.

I like to have 1% cottage cheese, with a slice of whole grain toast. The cottage cheese is a great source of protein and with the fiber from the bread, I find this meal stays with me for most of the morning.
Adding some peanut butter to the toast is yummy and kicks up the protein, too.

I like smoked salmon for breakfast. It's really nice on wholemeal toast spread thickly with low fat cream cheese.
EDIT How silly to thumb down any answers you don't like! Why ask for everyone's opinion in that case? Grow up!
