My ankle arthroscopy recovery took about 3 months before I was able to do alot. After the surgery though, I was in a cast just below my knee for 2 weeks and then I had that removed and was put in a walking boot. My whole foot swelled and I had bruising as well. I had many stitches, don't know how many, I lost count, but there were alot. After the boot, I was put in a ankle lace-up wrap and had to wear that for quite a while. I had 3 post-op appointments: one after two weeks of the surgery, the second one, a month after that, and the third post-op was 2 months after the second one. I know every time I didn't elevate it, I felt alot of pain and my toes swelled a little. The pain was mostly on my ankle, especially where the incision sites were.

I had my second ankle surgery last Monday for a bone spur that formed. I had that for a while until I finally got it removed. It was the size of a half of a pinky finger, my surgeon said. I am still on crutches and my toes are a purplish color and it is spreading. No clue what that is. It is wrapped with an ace bandage over a gauze wrap.
