Why is it you have to have a license to?

i think it may be because it is people's body's and when it comes to peoples body's they cannot be told what to do with it, i think that there should be a license at least with parenting.

It makes sense. The nature of driving allows for set rules to be in place, and for it to work safely and properly everyone needs to know what the traffic laws are. Stop on red, go on green, you're either following the speed limit or your speeding, etc. Child rearing is not and cannot be so black and white.

It's infeasible. How would such a license be enforced? Forced abortions, sterilizations or adoptions? The lack of a license wouldn't stop people from having sex. What would the criteria be? I mean, a child who's parents are searching the couch for change to eat that day can find more love than a child who's parents make 500k a year. A meth addicted mother giving more attention to their children than career chasing parents that work sixty hours a week (I do not condone meth addicted parents, or meth in general btw). The fact of the matter is the criteria would be arbitrary for the most part and definitely tainted with the dis function of bureaucracy.

I know. It makes me sad to be a human to hear that a 14 year old girl would be pregnant, or a drunk couple whose baby is an accident, but a sweet married couple can't get pregnant even though they deserve it. It doesn't make sense. I think people should have a license to be able to have a child to see if they would be able to care for the child. I believe people should wait till their at least 18 to get married and have a baby. People shouldn't have s** until their married and ready. People shouldn't have s** for fun. That's not what God made it for. He only made it for children to be born. He knew people would do it for other reasons and that gives them a one way ticket to hell

Driver's Licenses, etc. and marriage licenses are completely different. Driver's licenses and the like are granted upon passing a test.

My problem when it comes to child birth would be: How would you develop a test that would be standardized as well as equal and fair across the board? Who would be responsible for creating the test? How would it be administered?

You are making a personal judgment call about who does and who does not deserve to have children.

Maybe I don't think you should have children. What do you think of that?

Marriage and driving are cultural things that human civilization has developed. The act of having children is something drilled into us at a genetic level if for no other reason than to continue the human species. It wouldn't be much different than trying to get people to demand that others have licenses to grow their own vegetable gardens and eat out of it.

Because it isn't practical, you can pull over people who obviously don't know how to drive, and you seize dogs who are causing a disturbance and aren't properly registered. You can't ethically keep people from having sex, force birth control, force abortion, or force adoption unless there is abuse. So you can't ethically keep people from having children.

As much as I hate seeing children not being properly cared for, requiring government permission to reproduce is just too big a human rights problem.

Like seriously, people need a license to do stupid stuff like fishing and hunting, but yet, you need nothing to have a kid.

That should be one of the main things you need a license. I mean seriously, people like Britney Spears shouldn't be aloud to have children. I definitely think they should make getting license to have children mandatory.

only problem with that, is it's too communist.

because what if you dont know how to drive you could easily kill someone. there are rules in society that's what makes up society if there weren't there would be anarchy and total chaos.
