How do I explain that I have major trouble speaking to individuals.?
I have trouble talking to almost everybody including my parents my aunts and uncles my teachers and some of the kids at school. I've been really shy my whole life and there came a point that I just stopped caring about it. I'm used to it and I like myself just the way I am. But here's what we've got going on here. My parents are starting to get annoyed. I have a school project that's a huge part of my grade in Business Class. It requires me to interview 4 people I don't know. That's 4 too many. I need help explaining to my parents that I simply can't talk. Period. They just don't understand how I feel. They think I'm bullshitting. I might have Laliophobia which is the fear of speaking.

Write it down just like you did for us and give it to your school counselor. You need help because you're allowing your condition to affect how you live your life excessively. The way you described it, it may be getting slightly worse. Yes, I know about shyness. been there, done that. Good luck to you, but get some help before it gets any worse.

So... you have a phobia... now what? Most fears are irrational, the best way to deal with it is by facing it. You have to unless you want to go on being scared the rest of your life. That's too much stress already right there. You're making excuses. Getting over a fear does not happen over night, you have to constantly practice, have patience, and it gradually gets better overtime. Just do it :).

I have this same mental condition, and it's easy to overcome. It only takes admitting to yourself and others that you have social anxiety and you'll begin to overpower these feelings.
