My cat Mya has always had diarrhea since she was a kitten, looking for answers.?

I'm so sorry about Mya.

Did she get the TAMU G/I panel? (this is a blood test that would have been sent to Texas A&M for a panel of tests for issues related to the pancreas and intestines)

Some things that seem most likely are pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel disease. and did they discuss the possibility of something like Triaditis?

What are the liver values looking like ?

Yellow diarrhea means food is going right through her. Yellow vomit (from bile) commonly seen in both pancreatitis and IBD.

I know what it is like to have a cat with chronic health problems, as my 13 year old cat has diabetes mellitus, chronic pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease,

This makes it sound like he is constantly ill which isn't the case. he has had a few bad flare ups of pancreatitis over the past 2.5 years. but mostly we could treat at home and get it under control if attacked it quickly which i will give details of below.. This summer he also was diagnosed with IBD. and in a test then also had cobalamin deficiency . he gets cobalamin (Vit B12) injections. and a diet change helped the IBD.

In addition, the first time he got very ill (pancreatitis --> DKA ) he also developed liver damage .( but not quite hepatic lipidosis). He was on Denamarin liver support med for several months and liver went back to normal.

My cat gets various things when he has flare ups of pancreatitis. There are some anti-nausea meds. like Cerenia that can be given during flare ups. ( i think this may be approved for dogs but is used also for cats) . Pepcid AC (famotidine) can help upset stomach due to acid.

Pain med like buprenorphine is very important in management of pancreatitis . and some vets say it should be given whether or not the cat shows obvious signs of pain, since cats hide it , and pain itself makes healing more difficult.

Sub-q fluids at home both because of dehydration but also to help flush out inflammation

I would think Mya would really need at home fluids with the diarrehea and vomiting.

Antibiotics may be needed at times. (See my links below for more info on treating pancreatitis)

Re IBD. Since my cat is diabetic the vet (board certified internal med vet) opted to wait on any steroid use which does help some cats with IBD.. He recommended feeding rabbit or venison ( an animal protein his body was not used to-- in IBD there is an auto-immune thing going on) ; he gets 2/3 canned and 1/3 raw frozen, from Nature's Variety Instinct. He has not had any diarrhea since summer except one time he got into some people food.

Although I am feeding 1/3 raw, some people have gone to all raw meat & bone diets and at least the anecdotal evidence is that this has helped many cats with problems of persistent diarrhea from things like Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I realize you may be very hesitant about any diet change. with trying to balance out the vomiting and diarrhea! but there have just been so many cats helped by it.

Here is a website by a woman who had a cat much like yours --he had diarrhea for 6 years ever since he was a kitten. and she tried so many different special diets etc. and nothing helped , but finally she changed him to a raw diet and he was cured. . always get another opinion from a vet, they are all different and some a much better than others. Hope you already know not to give her any milk, ice cream, milk products. Did they check and CULTURE her poop in case it is a parasite of some kind? Ask the vet if a probiotic would help but it does sound serious. Bless and thank you for caring about your kitty, We do spend money around the holiday on junk other people do not even need, for myself I would cut back on holiday bills, those who truly love you and animals are your true friends and will understand.

A cat of mine had diarrhea for almost a year, saw the same vet during the whole process who couldn't find one thing wrong with her... I ended up getting a second opinion.

In the end, the second vet gave me a some diarrhea tablets. She began having normal bowel movements within three days. I hope this is helpful to you, though I notice you've been to more than one vet already.

The diet plan really should be made up of plenty of fiber and also wholesome foods. Eat four to 6 meals/snacks spread equally throughout a day. Commence doing exercises routinely. Supplements could help too. Flax oil, daily multivitamin, bitter melon, garlic, onion, and stevia might help.
