A question for parents familiar with Amazon?

Do you thing they will honor a price that was clearly a typo?

I just purchase several toys marked at $1 that clearly shouldn't have been. I'm really excited by th bargain. Am I just getting my hopes up?

Update:

Free shipping, normal price for the items varied from $5-$50.

Update 2:

The prices are all fixed now, and I have received confirmation emails. Does it make a difference if it was a third party seller?

Update 4:

All items were Melissa and Doug, and from the same seller http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/seller/at-a-glance.h...

Update 5:

I should also add that I purchased a total of 26 items at that pice

Update 6:

Heres one that is still priced at only $1 http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-English-Bulldog...

Update 7:

They just fixed the price on the link I just posted.

Update 8:

Thank you Tina has Twins. that is exactly what I was looking for. I have pending charges on my credit card, but no shipping confirmation email. Am I in the clear or not?

If the items have been shipped . . . you are all set.

If not, the seller can either cancel your order or contact you to see if you still want the items at the adjusted price.

Amazon has a disclaimer that basically says mistakes happen:

Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

    Good luck!

ETA - No - not in the clear until they have shipped. They can still reverse the pending charge and cancel . . . fingers crossed that you get it!

Source(s): Had a similar situation with a mispriced car seat - ordered 2 separate ones at 50% off what they should have been. One shipped and they honored the price . . . the other one was caught in time, they cancelled it and offered me 10% if I still wanted it.

They might not - do you remember the Target Britax carseat thing a few years back on Y!A? We all got confirmations that we purchased a Britax for $30 or something silly. Only the ones that had been posted for delivery honored the price. The late comers, like me, had their orders canceled and an apology email sent.

Ive never seen them make a clear typo.. but I would think so if your total at the check out was also a $1 for the toy. Now make sure you didnt accidentally buy used ones etc. they do sell those too and those might be a $1 depending on the condition.

I don't know what they will do, but my guess would be they will send you an email explaining the mistake and voiding your order.

Once a woman came on here saying Britax carseats were priced wrong on a website (can't remember, but the price was really low). A bunch of ppl went and ordered them, but the company canceled all the transactions.

Ive always had good luck with Amazon both when they and I have made mistakes. But, you'll likely get the chance to cancel if they messed up, versus them just billing you. If you review your order status - does the price show? Mine shows a Total over on the left - no great deals like yours though.

Post a link so people can check it out and see what the score is? As already mentioned -- perhaps used?

If you checked out and the total amount showed that each toy was $1, then I don't see how they can argue with it. Print a copy of the total it gave you when you finalized the order, so you have a hard copy.

If you checked out with that amount then no, I don't think they can go back and change it. Check your confirmation and watch your CC statement closely tho.
