would anyone have an idea how much my Scottish Fold, male cat should weigh?

he's nearly two years old and I'm assuming because he's a male he's a lot bigger than a female of the same breed...however I have no idea what either should weigh at this age. Thanks

Update:

I did feel him while he was lying on his side and looks as though most of the weight is in his haunches,

huge......Perhaps he was bred to mate! Too late now. I had him (like all my other cats) neutered when he was 5 months old. Oh! He IS an inside cat, but we live on the top floor of a condo. and he loves to sit out there during the nice days.........Sorry. We haven't had any nice days raining since March flooding everywhere.

It depends of the size of the cat. When he's sitting rub his sides, if you can just feel his ribs he should be about right.

I have a Scottish Fold pure bred, as a gift. They can be in variable colors but the ears are it's trait (folded & not sticking up straight. Unfortunately NONE read my question, on that point I give no one the best answer!

I stood on my weighing scales and then held him, which the difference in weight told me how much he weighed.

I really can't answer this one cats. Sorry about that. ... My wife's the one to ask about cats, but she's gone visiting at the moment so I can't ask her for you. ... I Think, that if it's anything like a British Shorthair, then it should be quite large & heavy, gender regardless,, but I'm only guessing. (i never could stand that operation animals get put through. It seems so cruel to me. So now you have a Scottish cat but no bagpipes.) The poor cat. ... If that happened to one of my cats & it did,, I would tell them after it,,, "Blame Her, She Did It, She Did It!", & you know what? Cats are not stupid. They know who it was that took them to get things done to them, & they never forget. .... I do know that sometimes things have to be done,, even though they may not be what we want. It's just that these days, too many people rush their animal friend to the vet ASAP to prevent them from breeding in later life,, but would be horrified at the thought of having a doctor do the same thing to their children! ...... One day,, (I think), such a thing will be commonplace. It will have to happen, or we will all become cannibals, just to survive in a vastly over-populated world! ... Oh well,,, that's my little rave for the night. .. Hope you get the answer you are looking for, sorry I can't help.

Folds are a medium size cat - a male at 2 yrs old would weigh about 10-12 lbs.

Scottish folds are the same size as a domestic mixed breed cat, so just any cat bed would work.

    hey!

well, i dont think they should have a set weight, my cat is a ginger tom cat, and he weighs nearly 7kg and hes nearly 10

you cant really control cats weight, and if he is an outdoors type of cat, then he gets exercise, mine stays indoors all day jajja
