Strange cat behavior?

I have two cats, a male and a female (both fixed) that have been together since February and just took my male to the groomer to get shaved and bathed and when I brought him home my female cat looked at him, sniffed him then hissed and ran away. She now is avoiding him and acting like he is a stranger cat?

I am perplexed by this! Anyone have any idea whats going on?

Update:

Thank you. that makes me feel better ^^

    This is actually really normal.

When he was bathed they changed his normal scent, so when she saw him (looking different) and smelled a stranger it scared her.

In a day or so when he starts to smell normal again she'll be fine.

Source(s): Owner of 5 cats, one spent last summer shaved and all the others were afraid of her when she came home.

Your male cat picked up some smells while at the groomer's that your female cat doesn't recognize and that's why she hissed at him and ran away. Give it a few days and she'll start recognizing him again.
