Frontline does not work on cats. What does?
I had dogs and cats and Frontline worked like a charm -- I never had to fog or premise spray - one application and the fleas were history. Then my dogs passed away and I found that Frontline for cats (lower The dose) DOES NOT WORK!! A week after I applied it, I premise sprayed and allowed the cats back in, not knowing each of them carried a whole bumper crop of fleas! I counted 19 fleas on my long haired cat! These fleas were not sluggish and dying but very active. FRONTLINE FOR CATS JUST PLAIN DOES NOT WORK! The dogs used to sleep with us and they were the ones killing the fleas all along! Three of my cats are feral -- I cannot bath them, pick them up, or spot treat them again (it took trapping and a $40 vet visit per cat in which they were put to sleep to apply Frontline) for me to get them one application. That cannot happen again. It is not even working anyway!
Help?!!

advantage multi and revolution are really good at killing fleas as far as topicals go. it also prevents heart worms and intestinal parasites. it works really good! you can also get capstar which is a pill that lasts for 24 hours killing fleas within 30 minutes. using both capstar and a topical flea control is a really good combo! not sure what to do other than treat the yard if you can't put on topical flea control on your feral cats. good luck, i used to work with feral cats, and thats really nice to know you are taking care of them!

Advantage will work if you take care of your yards too. The dog had fleas so when he passed the fleas looked for another host. The yards have fleas so new one are constantlyy jumping on. Buy Raid yard spray. It hooks up to the hose. Spray the entire yard and this should work. The cats should not be back there until it drys. Apply the Advantage per instructions and depending on how long ago you applied the Frontline. You don't want to overdose them.
I have a feral and you can apply it. Catch the cat in a trap. Wear some heavy duty gloves and reach in and put it on their head near the neck. I had a cat once that was a bear at the vets office. He would bring out the long leather gloves everytime she came for a visit.

1. You used dog Frontline on cats?!?
2. You should switch between Frontline, Advantage and any other safe application so the fleas don't get resistant to the formulation. I went through what you're going through because of flea resistance to Frontline. Switch to Advantage for a series of applications and be sure to reapply at the 30 day point. Waiting even a few days longer than you should can cause any resistant fleas to repopulate your pets so that, over time, the fleas will get harder and harder to get rid of.
3. If the cats are feral and living out on their own, don't worry about defleaing them. The cats get the fleas from the environment not vice versa. Unless you want to deflea the block you live on, you're not going to get rid of fleas. You can only keep them off the pets you can treat.

U should hav used cat frontline b4
Look it up on google or go 2 a local pet store and ask a person there what brand is the best 4 fleas
Another thing is 2 give the cats flea baths. Since they r aggresive, use protective gloves and wash them with flea repelant shampoo

Advantage is another miracle flea medicine.
I hope your feral cats are fixed. The world doesn't need more unwanted cats.

I use advocate on my kitten and havn't seen a flea on her and check her regularly. Our vet said that you see more fleas after you deflea your cats because they are 'abandoning ship'.
If you regularly deflea your cats (like to the packet instructions) it breaks the cycle of eggs and larvae.. also if you use a flea bomb to clear out your carpet and wash their blankets/bedding it helps :)
Goodluck :)
