How do you know when a Catholic church is in line with Rome?

I am doing a report for school on the Catholic Church and I found out that no all Catholic churches are in line with Rome. Some elect their own Pope. I had visited a church the other day and I couldnt get to ask them. The Church was Lady of Lourdes in Miami. Thanks.

Update:

that sure didnt answer my question. ALthough it may be the "same" to you, its not the same for most Catholics. I just need to know because I dont want to sound like a ignorant fool when I write my paper.

Update 2:

Father Macus- Thank you!!

Update 3:

Sinval... Thank you!

The Latin Rite is just one of the 23 Rites of the Catholic Church who are all in communion with Rome and recognize the Pope as the leader of the Church. The Oriental Catholic Church and the Polish National Catholic Church recognize the Pope as the leader but do not enjoy the full communion with the Church. Both are in discussions to come into full communion but there is already a recognition that there is agreement on doctrines and practices.

Then there are the autocephalous Catholic Churches who do not desire communion with Rome and remain outside of the institutional Church. They are usually associated with other groups that came out of the Council of Utrecht after Vatican I. They left the Church over the issue of papal infallibility.

There are also the Traditionalist Catholics who reject the changes in Vatican II and remain outside of the communion of the Church. All of these groups may have valid but illicit orders for their clergy but for some apostolic succession is in question. The Church you mentioned is a Latin Rite Church in full communion with Rome. God bless!

IF the said Church is a Roman Catholic Church, then it is in line with Rome and the Pope. There are a number of other Catholic Churches, but they have a prefix before them like, Ecumenical Catholic Church, Anglican Catholic Church and so on. These Churches have Catholic practices, but are not in line with Rome and the Pope. They are separate Churches with their own bishops.

there is only one recognised pope , and he is established in rome.

there are one or two who claim they are the rightful leaders of the church , but no one seriously takes notice . the holy spirit guides the one in rome to never utter a false doctrine

I am a member of the Assembly of God in Brazil. One way to tell is by looking at the Catholic dogmas created over time as infant baptism, Masses for the dead, intercession of saints and of Mary among other dogmas without any biblical basis.
