Cat wouldn't eat chicken skin?
I had some baked chicken wings last night so I gave a little piece to my cat for a treat. He ate the meat but wouldn't eat the skin. My dog of course ate it, but I was a little surprised my cat didn't. I know cats hunt and eat mice and birds, etc. in the wild so I figured he would've gobbled it all up. He is my first cat though so I have little knowledge of felines.

Was is seasoned? If so then that's probably why. Or the cat just doesn't like chicken skin which is odd because my cats love it cooked or raw but all cats do like different things.
Not related to the question but dogs are carnivores as well. They are just not obligate carnivores like cats. They are opportunistic carnivores.

Chicken wings are spicy and should not be given to cats. He ate the meat but had the sense to stay away from the skin.
I feed my cats raw and cooked chicken. No spices. They will eat the skin if it is cooked, but not raw. Absolutely no spice.
A cats jaw can only go up and down not side to side so it gets difficult for them to chew on some softer foods.
Remember, a cat is an obligate carnivore and needs meat. A dog in an omnivore and needs both plant and meats.

Cats are kind of odd. I have two and one will only eat cat food. The other I can give cooked egg, chicken, yogurt, crackers and chips too and she likes them. I try not to give her too much other than her normal food though. One time she got sick from getting into the fish food and eating an entire bag of algae wafers. Since then she's gotten more picky about what she eats but cats are all just quirky creatures.

Cats must know that chicken skin is bad for you as it is for us adults. Your cat is probably not into hot spicy foods.
As for the dog, i hate to say it, but they eat anything. There are dogs that eat chickens. Many years back we had a chicken coop & our chickens were attacked by a Malamute or Husky. We were told that these dogs will kill chickens.

Cats can be very particular about what they eat. I have one who wants to try whatever I am eating. Then I have another who will only eat very specific brands and flavors of cat food and will turn up her nose at any table scraps 99% of the time.

Most likely didn't like the seasoning even if it was just salt and pepper. Besides, the chicken meat is easier to eat.

maybe because its cooked? or because its chicken? they mainly feed on mice so i would guess their used to that live, raw stuff y'know?
