I have poison ivy, should I visit the doc?

It's not a terrible case- I've had worse- and generally I just suck it up and wait for it to heal. But I was reading about what the doctor might do for me if I went, and I heard they just give you lotion unless it's pretty bad (either severe or if it's spread to certain areas...) in which case you get a shot of steroids.

My question is, should I go and ask for the shot? I have small rashes pretty much everywhere, and one is developing about 6cm below my eye. When I was in the woods I urinated, so it's been there since the beginning and gotten steadily worse. Now the right side of my jawn is swollen a bit and looks red and irritated. With careful inspection, I noted several spots forming on the head. So you think it would be worth it/advisable to make an appointment?

Update:

Inb4 herpes, get the **** outta my question if you think this **** is funny. I cant jack off for dayyyyyyys

Update 2:

That sounds pretty bad. I had poison oak once over almost my whole face, it wasn't pleasant.

My advice would be apply lotion or cream regularly, but it also wouldn't hurt to call a doctor, just to be safe. But I'm not a professional or anything, so don't quote me.

The face and genitals are places that would make a shot the best treatament.
