Well, immature men I should say. My ex and I had a pretty intense 7 month relationship. You coudl call it accelerated. He showerd me in promises of the future, took me home with him etc. And he hasn't done that before. You could tell his parents were really taking it seriously. Then the last few months he just started being a jerk, picking fights, refusing to talk, being manipulative...very bipolar. I loved him and thought it was a bump in the road. Then he started breaking up and making up with me. Then he dumped me the day I got back from Florida in a spat. Then he breaks down crying for two hours. I comforted HIM! I didn't want to break up. I loved him wholeheartedly..but yea, he didnt deserve my love. So we dont talk for a week..except and i miss u text from him. we meet up a few weeks later. he looks A MESS. he quit his job. is acting super weird. then nhe lies in my lap looks at me lovingly and kisses me. it was very sweet adn natural that day. then when night hits he gets weird again. then says he doesnt know if he loves me!:?! wth. so he left we kissed. idk...

oh he also threw in : i might leave ny and go home. WHA!!!!!!!!!!!! So its been a week..havent heard a peep. he finally changed our fb status the other day..which HURT. he seems to be feeling better..having had his mommy take care of him in his hometown. got his job back and is coming back to ny. i feel like he doesnt care!? is this just how guys deal with things :? it seems like he's rebuilding his life without me :( I'm just leaving him alone.

Honestly, i wonder if he's bipolar.
When we broke up he was like i love you forever . i'm so sorry. 
He just broke my heart and hasn't given any closure. Sometimes I wonder if the changing of the status was a little mind game to see if I'd react.

Breakups vary by the personality of each man.
Your ex(?) sounds like he has problems.
It's clear that he is acting like a jerk.
It is unclear as to why he is acting like a jerk.
It could be his immaturity & personality.  It could be a clinical mental disorder.  It could be organic brain damage from injury or tumor or toxins, etc.  He may be on drugs.  Illegal or legal.  He may be having a bad reaction to legally prescribed drugs.
For his sake, he should consult a physician or a neurologist.  Along with a psychiatrist or counselor.  Depending on the source of his problem behaviour.
For your sake, I would not remain in relationship until he has sought some form of professional help.
