It may be a phase, but it probably isn't. You should ask your parents not to buy sweets or to at least keep them where you won't find them. You'll find that if you stop eating them for a few weeks, you'll stop craving them. If you get a really bad craving, drink some water or eat a fruit. you can also try taking deep breaths or distracting yourself with a book or something. It should go away within 20 minutes.
To lose weight, here are some things you can do:
Here are some exercises you can do to lose weight with minimal or no equipment:
-Running: probably best exercise, outside, or on a treadmill. You'll burn calories really quickly, tone your legs, build muscle, and get slim and lean in no time. Buying a good pair of running shoes is definitely worth it.
-biking tones your legs and builds muscle, which allows you to do more exercise. The amount of calories you burn can be from 500-1000 per hr.
-jumping rope is an extremely simple exercise that everybody can do. If you don't have one, run into the dollar store. It is seriously effective. Ten minutes of jumping rope without stopping burns about the equivalent of running an eight minute mile. it also improves coordination and agility.
-Stair Climbing is another very effective exercise and there are tons of different exercises you can do. The simplest and most obvious one is just running up and down the stairs as fast as you can. a 150 pound person can burn almost 80 cal in ten minutes if it's nonstop running up and down. Look up other exercises you can do with this one standard piece of equipment. There are many that involve only one step which you can buy or makeshift one.
-It's summer and swimming is a great exercise and lots of fun. Doing laps up and down a pool for about an hour will burn 800 calories and tone your entire body.
-brisk walking is one of the easiest exercises there is. You can lose 360 cal per hr and tones your stomach, legs, and hips. Walking uphill adds to the calories burned. To avoid chicken winging, bend your arms at a right angle and keep your elbows at your sides as you move them back and forth. Do this also when running. It's easy and provides a simple upper-body workout.
-Dancing is lots of fun and burns 600-800 calories an hour. Get together some friends, turn on the music, and rock out.
-buy some exercise videos and/or check out youtube for routines. There's tons of really great stuff there.
-Jump on a trampoline. It's a fun activity and burns about 400 calories an hour in the bargain.
-kickboxing involves zero equipment and is a lot of fun, especially with a friend. you'll burn about 600 calories an hour and, even though it's tiring, you feel so great afterwards.
-yoga not only provides a way to relax and unwind, it also helps you lose weight. With the simple moves you can lose 180 calories an hour. It improves your flexibility and tone, and overall physical, mental, and emotional health.
-I'm on a soccer team, and running around the field during a game is great exercise. You can burn 400 calories just chasing a ball around for an hour and most of the practices are a lot longer than that.
-hiking is another great exercise (I mean actual hiking, not gentle walking and not necessarily rock climbing). you can lose 350 calories an hour and see some beautiful things on the way.
-gardening can be something you do together as a family and can be fun. Just by pulling weeds, planting seeds, and raking leaves, you can lose 350 calories in an hour. and it can be something you do for the entire day. You get a beautiful yard in the bargain.
-house cleaning helps you lose 200 calories in one hour and, however tedious it may be, like gardening, it results in both weight loss and pleasant surroundings.
Eat things like cheese, yogurt, cheerios, eggs, etc. They are healthy and filling foods that you can eat for any meal, but keep any yogurt besides for plain to a minimum because all the rest, although healthy, have a ton of sugar. Also, eat a lot of fiber. It fills you up really quickly so you eat less. To speed up your metabolism, eat a lot of spicy foods, drink green tea, and eat things like soup, broccoli, pears, citrus fruits, and be sure to get a lot of sleep. Avoid sugary drinks at all costs. Statistics show that people who snack on nuts are slimmer than those who don't (try sunflower seeds and pistachios-you're likely to eat less because you have to crack them). Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and drink smoothies with low-fat milk and fresh fruit. Try it without sugar-it still tastes great and is really healthy. You'll be surprised at how many great things are actually healthy. Look it up.

Source(s): Keep a journal of how much you eat and exercise and weigh yourself every morning before you shower (if you shower in the morning). These will motivate you to lose more and work hard. You'll see. Drink a lot of water, as much as possible. Drink at least 8 or 9 cups a day and drink before each meal. It will help you eat less and speeds your metabolism by 30%. If you are hungry and it isn't meal time, try drinking water and waiting ten-twenty minutes. Sometimes, people mistake thirst for hunger and if it's just a craving, it'll go away by then. Most importantly, believe in yourself! You can do it! Good luck :) - 9 years ago
Hey :) im a 13 year old girl too. It might be just a phase. I sometimes go through phases like that too. Try to think of the benefits of not eating the sweets. if you really are overweight (don't be crazy and think your obese when your underweight) then the weight will come off. If you really want some sweets then try replacements that still taste good but don't have a lot of calories (I love fiber one brownies!). Don't make a huge deal out of it as long as you don't gain too much weight and you don't get too unhealthy. UR ONLY 13 SO ITS NOT 2 BAD as long as u don't get really unhealthy!

Many sweets today not only contain real sugar but artificial. Artificial sugar can actually be addicting. Meaning it can cause cravings. So really in order to break this. You_must_use will power and determination to get past this.
If you feel a sweet craving coming on. Have some fruit. Natural sugar that can satisfy that sweet tooth, but also be much better for you. It will take some time to retrain your brain and your taste buds. In the end it will be worth it though. Curve that now,so you won't deal with diabetes later on in life!

Fruit is nature's candy! Try eating more fruits because they also carry carbohydrates for energy, fiber for your digestion, and antioxidants for your immune system. And eating sweets is never a bad thing. Start off little by little, slowly working your way out of your sweet tooth. You will successfully win with mind over matter. It takes lots of self-discipline, but you will get there! <3

Sweets are artificial foods, so no, it's not a phase. I reccomend your parents to stop you eating sweets. They are bad for your teeth.
