Do leftists get off on politcizing the deaths of innocents?

The issue has always been registration and license. The entire problem can be addressed with civility and rationality, but the wing-nuts have neither the manners nor the intelligence.

The minds of the vast majority of liberals are already made up. Don't try to confuse them with facts or logic. Leftist anti-gunners will ALWAYS point to the NRA as the scapegoat when something like this happens and will continue to scream "Gun control!"

If they had the brains to read and weren't so lazy as to get all their "facts" force-fed to them by the lame-stream liberal media, they would know that the U.S. isn't the only country that has tragedies like this. How quickly they forget the Tianamen Square massacre in China, where over 1,000 people -- unarmed because China doesn't allow private citizens to own firearms -- were massacred by the government for no other reason than their government didn't like what they were doing. They would also know that between 1900 and 2000 over 56 MILLION PEOPLE in countries where private gun ownership was outlawed were exterminated by their governments. Finally, they'd know that the great socialist gun control experiment in Australia has been an abject failure -- after law-abiding citizens were ordered to turn in their guns, crime went up over 30% nationwide and the number of women reporting rape in Australia has gone from 1 in 8 to 1 in 3.

Take guns away from private citizens and who still has them? Criminals, law enforcement, and Liberal Public Enemy #1 -- THE MILITARY. Maybe they'd change their tune if they staged one of their loud-mouthed *****-fests (which they call a "protest") and the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces marched in and opened fire...

I certainly don't think their deaths should be used as divine shields by the gun lobby to prevent ANY discussion of gun control.

I believe people have the right to defend themselves, but I also believe there are limits and that we could be doing far more to prevent the wrong people from getting their hands on them.

Democrat says: "I think after a tragedy like this it is our responsibility to have a discussion about how we can prevent individuals like this from acquiring weapons to be able to commit these types of acts."

Republican hears: "Hide your guns! I'm comin for them!"

And the National Rifle Association will sell a lot more memberships in the next month and a lot more guns for 'self protection' will be sold this week. So who's political, eh?
