If my wife asks me "Does my bum look big in this?", I wouldn't dare answer other than "No, dear...". There's such a thing as self-preservation...!

Depends greatly on what is to be gained and lost; I honestly don't care about maintaining any principals when confirming to my mother that I still attend mass. To do otherwise would be inviting unnecessary pain.

I also have no desire to explain the truth to someone that didn't ask or has no desire to hear it. If someone is asking a simple question about their faith on here, I won't just up and decide to call them out on it out of some need to be a d1ck to strangers.

In real life, I try to be truthful to most people. However, some folks are so immature and belligerent that I'll tell them what they want to hear just to get rid of them.

  • Everyone does. That is how the whole world works. What do you think the world would be like if we would tell them the TRUTH? It would be horrible.

The truth is more helpful though, usually.

I'll sidestep details or may bend the truth a little but I'm not going blow sunshiny lies at them.

Here in R&S I am pretty straight forward. In real life I am more careful how I answer people.
