How do I help my cat with her bleeding/rotting tail ?

My sister's cat, Molly, who is about 6 months old has a tail that is almost constantly bleeding and raw. It rots off. How can I treat it without going to the vet. (We can't afford the vet) I can usually heal them with natural remedies. Please help, my sister cries about this a lot, and I hate to see her sad and an animal in pain. We've been trying to wash the tail so it doesn't get infected.

Try different creams and stuff the cat might be allergic to something in your house so try taking something away from the house that might cause an allergic reaction. And try TCP cream, e45, and moisturisers and Vaseline or petroleum jelly to barrier it from getting infected

You will need to go to the vet. Part of owning an animal is having the responsibility to make sure it is healthy and not in any pain and taking it to the vet when sick. If your foot was constantly bleeding and raw, you would need to go to the doctor, you shouldn't try to fix that yourself - same thing for your cat.

Do ask the vets how much they could charge - if they could maybe offer you a payment plan over a few months. It's worth checking.

If you really can't find the money for it - I would take it in to your local animal shelter and let them re-home it. I'm really sorry if this is not the advice you are looking for but you have to look out for the best interests of the cat and you have to be humane about it. Animals do need to go to the vet every now and again, for vaccinations and treatment. If you can't afford that there isn't much point having a pet.

If you can't afford the vet you should give her to a shelter. If she isn't treated properly she can get an infection and die . Which will be more suffering.

If you won't take her some place to get help...don't let her go outside, once a day wash the tail with mild soap, put neosprorin on it, and wrap it in gauze. This only works if the cat will leave it alone (most cats won't). She needs antibiotics! See if a vet will do a payment plan.

If you can't afford the vet care you can't afford the cat. That's like having a child and refusing to give it medical care. Either find someone to help you pay for vet care or take it to a shelter.

coach your babies to understand animals and residing issues, thats absolutly discusting. Alot of cats cant function with out a tail. Take it to the vets, yet once you tell them the very fact they are going to maximum probable call the RSPCA and the cat would be taken off you. The cats tail will grow to be VERY contaminated and could unfold to different aspects of its physique, slowly and painfully, the cat will ultimately die. do not attempt and take care of it your self, if someones arms the place blown off, I doubt you may attempt and make that greater useful.

Rots off? This is serous -- could be anything, could have a fungus-- this is serious, no matter what it is, and creams and other human medications may be making it worse. If you cannot afford vet care please find a Reputable, responsible local rescue group who rescues cats / dogs. If you take her to the shelter they might kill her.

Geezus. Give this poor neglected kitten up to a no-kill shelter. Leaving it with a horrible injury like this is FELONY ANIMAL NEGLECT.

Do hope you're just trolling and not really this horrible?
