having stolen near enough £50m in uncut diamonds wont every person who deals in diamonds be on the look out for them? how are they going to sell them without getting caught?

They're uncut. The thieves will no doubt have jewellers ready and waiting to work on them. Once they're cut they will be untraceable.

There's bound to be some shysters only too happy to pocket some cut price diamonds and make a few shekels.They reckon they'll sell at 20%,still a lot of money though.Had to be an inside job.

Most of these are raw/ uncut. The larger ones may need to be reshaped. The markets exist in the near and the far East. They should get 20 cents on the dollar.

Have you not heard of Blood Diamonds?
These are diamonds from war zones which are supposed to be embargoed, but there is an international criminal organisation which is very adept at overcoming the restrictions and selling blood diamonds to dealers.
They are probably already sold.
