What does it mean to you when you hear someone described as "living in the past?"?

I have been told I 'live in the past" but I don't feel particularly nostalgic or mourn the past... nor do I think I wish things were like the good old days... yet different friends have agreed... so... what does that mean to you?

It depends - it can be that the person is trapped in the cobwebs of the past making a fixation of a particular event and not being able to move on. Or maybe in reference to somebody's lifestyle -- a luddite for instance who likes everything related to the past and is opposed to modernity.

It probably means different things to different people. To me, it means spending too much thinking about things that have already happened, rather than living in the moment or planning for the future. Or allowing past events to influence current decision making to an overly large extent.

It means i don"t have any money for you(without great reason)and i want to think i"m liked and better than you and that we're still O.K.with each other.and that's the best i had to be nice to you
