Revelation 13, 18. The number of the beast. (666)?

The wisdom is that we must watch and recognize the coming of the beast and still remain faithful to God unto the end. We cannot prevent the beast coming but we can discern him so that we do not follow him as the world will.

The Beast in Revelation likely referred to the Roman Emperor Nero. In Hebrew, letters are also used as numbers; the figure 666 is reached by adding up the numerical values of the Hebrew letters "Qsr Nrwn", which transliterates the Greek "Kaisar Neron" ("Emperor Nero"): Q = 100 S = 60 R = 200 N = 50 R = 200 W = 6 N = 50 Total:666 So it's a kind of code using magical numerology called gematria, perhaps to conceal the real message from the Romans. The "mark of the Beast" seems to be some sort of passport in the form of a tattoo for those who want to trade within the Roman Empire, or maybe some kind of proof that someone is part of the Empire and entitled to trade within it. It sounds like some kind of branding.

HI when Gabriel was sent to Daniel in Ch 9 he was to give Daniel skill and understanding about what the prophecy means. Many have taken this section and believe it is a system. And in some ways the mark of the beast will. But understanding that I see is Dan 7 and 9 are talking about the same event. The anti christ and false prophet IN this chapter are often referred to as then he and note the terrible actions they do. Dan 7 and 9 point out that this is in the middle of the week or right after the abomination of desolation.

Dan 7 The ten horns are ten kings Who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings.

Dan 7:25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute[fn4] the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.

Dan 7:26 'But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever.

Dan 9And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolation's are determined.

Dan 9:27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

Jesus warns about the abomination of Desolation. This is what Dan 9 is also talking about and it is also 3.5 years into the 70th week. Look at MATHEW 24 Jesus says let the reader understand... and gives specific instruction for what to do at this exact moment in time. John is reiterating the same point.

MATHEW 24 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

It is a wisdom that even a little child may have and indeed we are to be as little children in receiving it.

Christ Himself is Wisdom and is wisdom to those in Him.

Surely only a fool refuses Christ?

The text clearly states it is the number of man.

Man without God is a wild beast, is man of sin. Man is every type of wild and savage beast without God and the Bible uses animals to illustrate their characters. Man without God bears that mark and it is very easily observable, indeed unavoidable to any that look. It is easily seen all around us today, has been and will be.

The Bible employs contrasts and sets things in opposition to illustrate.

The beast, the wild beast, is set in opposition to the Lamb of God and those in Him bear His character.

So simple, so clear.

So why do so many refuse to see?

666 is the numerical value of Nero's name.

A minority of Biblical scholars believe that 666 was a mistranslation and the actual number is 616, which matches Caligula. Both emperors were wicked and would have easily fit into that part of Revelation.

It means it would be wise to understand the number of the beast.

It refers that man who has wisdom will know that 666 is d mark of devil and will refuse to take it:)

REVELATION 13 by each verse
