What breed is my dog?

He's a sighthound mix, that's almost for sure, and probably one with short hair. He could easily be part or mostly Greyhound or Whippet - "Lurcher" is a catch-all term for a mixture of sighthound and other breeds, so he probably IS a "lurcher" in that sense.

FYI.. lurchers are not a "breed" of dog, but rather a type of working dog. There is no set standard on what a lurcher looks like. they were bred to do a task, not to look like anything in particular. In theory, any sighthound type mix could be considered a lurcher, if it can do the job.

Your dog looks very much like whippet or a greyhound in his face. If he's a smaller dog, I'd say you are spot on with the whippet suggestion. If he is larger, then perhaps a greyhound.

If he is crossed with another breed, it doesn't show through with any obvious characteristics that I can identify.

This is a photo of a whippet next to a greyhound. The primary difference between them is size, and they both come in about every coat pattern you can think of.

He definitely has either Whippet or Greyhound in him!

He could just be a full Lurcher (which could be a mix of loads of breeds: Collie, Greyhound, Whippet, Bendlington Terrier, Saluki)

I don't think he has Collie or Bedlington or Saluki in him.

Yup, I'd say whippet or greyhound mix, possibly pharaoh hound mix. General features are definitely sighthound!
