Why does my cat love this stuffed animal so much?
My cat has this stuffed animal. It is a stuffed animal (a tiger) that I got as a kid and it is double or triple her size. Granted, it is soft. She loves to snuggle with this tiger in front of her favorite window. Earlier, I caught her hugging it with her front paws and licking it, which explains why its hair is not as soft anymore. Now, I get that cats lick people or other animals because it reminds them of their mother and comforts them, and I get that she snuggles with it because it is comfy, but why on earth would she be treating this toy like another living being? I just readjusted it because it was falling and she grabbed onto it as if to tell me to leave it alone. It is very cute and has made her stop eating towels, and the tiger is unharmed, so there is nothing wrong, but I am very confused by her behavior. She is 4 years old and spayed, by the way, if that has to do with anything.

Many cats - and dogs - have a special stuffed animal that they have bonded with. It is not an uncommon thing. It is one of the little 'quirks' that makes the animal special. I always think of this as the same reason children have attached themselves to a special animal or blanket - it gives them comfort. If it is not causing any problem then let her continue. The benefit - as you pointed out - is that she has stopped eating towels which could have caused her a problem at some point if she ingested enough.

This particular stuffed toy just comforts him like a pacifier does for a baby. Some cats do this when taken from mom cat earlier than 8 weeks of age but others just enjoy the comfort for no other reason. It's harmless and makes him feel comfortable.

From what you've said, your kitty has no one else in the house other than you and her tiger. I have a big stuffed dog an old friend gave me on my bed and my kitten baby, Patch, kneads his little heart out on it!
Your kitty has probably made a little bond with the tiger. Because its comfy and soft, which cata tend to like, it's going to be her best friend! As for why she's treating it "like another living creature" your cata probably just very attached to it!

Quick! Before it's too late! Cut open your tiger, your cat is trying to tell you that there is some illegal substances inside it! Perhaps the person who gifted it to you forgot to tell you about the special package, but it is very likely there is some kind of "goods" inside it! Or perhaps you accidentally spilled some coffee on it, cats love coffee, man. Hope I helped =)

Putting it simply, the cat associates the penguin with comfort and its mother and therefore suckles the penguin. We have a cat that is now 13 that thinks my dad's dressing gown (robe) is his mother...
