Why cant i ever fall asleep?

I have no clue why but I cannot fall asleep. Sometimes I will at around 3-4 in the morning but most of the time I stay up all night, fall asleep early the next day, then end up not wanting to wake up, and sometimes don't until 12-1 pm!

I've never had this problem before. I don't think a lot when I'm going to bed I lay in the dark for hours wide awake. I'll close my eyes and try to sleep but end up just laying there. I don't drink a lot of coffee. Only when I need it so maybe 2-3 days per week.

I don't understand why I can't sleep. And I don't like to take sleeping meds because they really mess with my body. What can I do?

Sounds like your sleeping schedule is off? As in like messed up. What you are going through sometimes happens to me but it only goes on for a few nights eventually I will adjust my sleeping times to restore it.

Most people need some amount of sleep in order to function. You probably need sleep too. So when you stay up and only go to sleep at 3/4am or early the next day your body usually won't wake you up (unless you set an alarm or something) until you get the amount of sleep needed ie. you wake up at 12/1pm. Compared to if you go to sleep at 11pm your body obviously isn't going to wake up at 12pm because you don't need that much sleep. It will maybe wake you up at 8/9am the next day.

The question is how long has it been going on for?

If it's short term it's probably due to your sleeping schedule. What I do is I "tire myself out" (eg. getting only 2/3 hours of sleep the night before) so that I am tired by 11pm or 12am then I can go to sleep instead of being not tired and only going to sleep at 3/4am. That way I can adjust my sleeping times so that I'm not sleeping late and waking up late anymore.

As for not being able to sleep (you're lying in bed and your eyes are closed but you can't sleep) it might be because you're simply not tired from waking up at 12/1pm the day before.

    Sorry for being so long-winded...

I have a great collection of lullabies in english, I sleep 12 -14 hrs a day

despite I am a coffee drinker.

If you are german, or anything else than celtic, listen to english lullabies when you wanna sleep.

I have also asian lullabies, they are excellent to make celtic people to fall asleep.

All are on CD's and if you ask me the kind you need, I'll help you.

i sleep in the morning, (6 or 7) i need to keep my eyes open in the midnight cuz i need it.

when i need to sleep in the night, i keep my eyes open for 24 hours. And then, when i feel sleepy enough at night, i go to my bed. So, i change my bed timing.

You can use your 'sleepy' to control your sleep

Dear ? did you know that most cases of sleep problems are spiritual in nature. These are problems that are created by our ancestors in the after life. A simple chant of " sri guru dev datta " is a chant that removes all sorts of distress caused by ancestors. please read this article. It has helped thousands across the world, its a non profit organization that is helping humanity understand how the spiritual dimension affects our lives .
