Planning to burn belly/body fat, workout suggestions? (picture included)?

Hi,

I'm recently sobering up from daily marijuana usage.

Till now, I've been sober for 2.5 weeks. Feels good indeed, much more energy and I have a better sleep pattern.

Anyways, throughout the years I've gained a bunch of fat, mainly from my uncontrollable "munchies" and now its time to burn it all away.

My stats:

Height: 5 ft, 7.5 inches tall

Weight: fluctuates between 162 lbs and 168 lbs

Age: 23

How I look now: http://bayimg.com/AAcMBaaFd

I have a "beer belly" and developed man-b00bs. I know, it sucks.

Here's a picture to better demonstrate my state of being.... (http://bayimg.com/AAcMBaaFd)

I eat meat and veggies, but my family is vegetarian, so the only food available in my house is vegetarian food. On top of that I'm Indian,

I'm a selective meat eater, since I grew up vegetarian. I only like chicken, some pork and some beef.

Having said that, I need an Indian (Vegetarian) fitness expert who can advise me on the types or specific foods I should be eating to help assist my fat burn.

I can't eat meat or fish like most fitness trainers recommend daily, so I'm using Yahoo! Answers as a medium to help guide my eating and dieting.

If you're not Indian, that's okay, can you at least suggest proper fruits/veggies/nuts, etc and a good exercise routine. And I will work around that.

Please help me out, I'm committed to work hard. I just need an absolute fat-blaster exercise routine. And I will follow. Youtube links or video references and articles will also be helpful.

P.S. I know there are "fat burners" out there that will yield results, but they aren't tested to see what happens in the long run, so I want to avoid that option.

ONLY GOOD DETAILED ANSWER WILL BE CHOSEN FOR "BEST ANSWER". But please give me enough info possible.

Please help.

Update:

My BMI is 25.61 or (25.6127298 exact)

Formula: (weight x 703) / (height)^2 = BMI

I used the weight 166 lbs (avg) x 703 divided by (67.5)^2

to get 25.61

Apparently a BMI between 18.5 and 25 is ideal.

And 25-30 BMI is considered overweight.

So I guess I am overweight.

But I am more concerned about my belly fat rather than my body's weight.

Update 2:

some more details....

I'm a male.

I have the complete INSANITY workout regime at home. the most I completed was about 2 weeks of it. My parents have been doing it about 60 days (similar fat as me) and I haven't seen noticeable results. My younger brother, much leaner than me, has done it and you could see his muscle definition.

I don't know if Insanity is the best result for me. I rather do something in a gym, or another workout routine that isn't as fast.

  • First off, congratulations for getting sober! You won't regret it!! As for eating, you don't have to eat meat to get the protein you need. You can eat tofu or find other alternatives. You can also have protein shakes to use as supplements, but it depends on what you're looking to get. Whey protein is the best if you want to go that route. Fruits and vegetables are also really important. Nuts are also a good source of protein and so is milk. As for exercise, running/jogging are really good. So is swimming. Try some exercise videos as well. I personally recommend Jillian Michaels. She's really tough and really kick-butt! I've been doing various videos of hers since August and I now have actual muscle on my forearms! I'm 5"2, 110 pound 17 yr old female and I have skinny arms, but now I have some muscle. :) I'm doing her 30 Day Shred right now and tonight is my last night for Level 1. It's really good! Level 1 is on YouTube, but you may need to buy the actual DVD for Levels 2 and 3. Good luck!
