My cat likes tummy rubs?

Question

First- this is not exactly a serious question- so please respond in kind:)

My funny feline likes his tummy rubbed. He rolls on his back on the floor and if you rub his tummy- he purrs. It's adorable. He tries to do this with our Lab and she just seems confused "Why is he doing that- what does he want??".

When I hold him, he'll roll over in my arms 'till he's in the position you'd hold a baby in. I cannot resist- I give him raspberries on his tummy (which isn't easy since he's long-haired) and he starts purring.

I don't know much of his past- I adopted him a few years ago. I suspect he's either been treated quite well in the past or he hadn't been and is the sort of creature who appreciates any love. I don't know. He's the first cat I've owned beyond barn cats as a kid.

I'm curious about what other cat-lovers think.

Thanks for any answers. I'd love to hear about funny things other people's cats (or any pet, honestly) does that is amusing.

Sounds like he was spoiled a little guy before you got him. So cute that he thinks the dog should rub his belly too. Your kitty just loves attention. You have a bundle of love. 
My fur babies love their bellies rubbed too. Lex will ever wake me to snuggle while I pet his belly at night. He actually prefers my boyfriends belly rubs and it is super cute when he gets busted sneaking in for alone time with him. We laugh every time.

My old cat wouldn't let you touch her tummy or her paws ever.
Our male kitten now thinks that tummy rubs is an invite to grab your arm and nip you.
Our female kitten loves it - she rolls over and lets you stroke her all over (even with your foot). She has just learned how to jump onto the cupboard (like 7ft tall) off her cat tree. Our male is too scared to go up there and just watches her but wont actually jump up there.
The male loves to hide - he gets right under the cushions and buries himself so you have to check chairs before you sit down. He also scraps the rug up and makes a tunnel which he lays in
Both will snuggle up with one of our dogs and the dog tries to lick their ears (and because the dog is so much bigger the poor kittens get soaked by her huge tongue and it almost knocks them over. They can't get near the other dog as he doesn't like cats

Our cat loved getting his belly rubbed and would come up expecting one every night around the same time. He would just plop down on his back next to you like, "Time to get rubbing!".
He also walked on the ceiling and did flips ;D

My cat rolls onto his back when I first come home from work and will tolerate about 4 rubs, if I don't pay attention to his "signs", he will try to bite me for rubbing too long.  This is a new behavior for him so I can't figure out the change (???) but his belly fur is so soft that I can't resist petting it.  :-)

My kitty loved her yummy being rubbed! Which is strange as a lot of cats bite you! She is spoiled and loves playing with my doggie, she also sleeps with her tongue sticking out a lot it&#x27;s so adorable! She also acts like a dog in a lot of ways, she drinks out of the toilet and she&#x27;s just plain crazy! But it suits her name Luna cause she is a loon! &lt;3
