How would you change as a person if you were told that you had already died?

i would probably start to decompose, if i was actually dead.

but seriously, there are many ways to test if you are actually alive, and i would probably start running down the list:

- try touching or moving something. if you can affect the physical world, you cannot be a spirit.

- walk into a public building with automatic doors and talk to a person behind the counter. if you are a ghost, not only would your prescence not affect the auto doors, but there are few ghosts that are working behind a counter, so if the person can hear and see you, you're fine.

- try calling someone on your phone. if they respond strangely, you're probably dead.

Oddly enough............this has actually happened to me not once, but twice in life.

I was once pronounced DEAD in the Navy, and woke up in sick bay, with a sheet pulled over my face.

I was like.........HEYYYYYYYYYY!!!! I'm trying to BREATHE here!!!!!!!!!

Scared the PISS out of the corpsman, sitting there, writing out my "Death" report.

Apparently I wasn't as dead as everyone thought.

The second time, was years later, after I moved to Italy......and had a wicked wipe out, on my motorcycle and slammed into a stone wall at full speed.

I had what I can only tell you, was an out of body experience, and I witnessed my "Death" while floating above the scene.

I was all torn and twisted up with the bike, and I certainly looked dead........and the back wheel of the motorcylce was still spinning. I remember that. The throttle was stuck. It was about 6 am.....on a little used road at that hour........so it would be some time before anyone found me.

I felt no pain........and even remember thinking........Oh, so this is how I die.......lying next to the dumpster like so much trash. People passing by, will just think someone was throwing out the broken motorcycle. They may not even notice the crumpled body underneath.

I laughed at how ironic that was. But then..........I started floating back down, and re-entered my body.........and when I did..........I was suddenly in a world of pain, Everything hurt............and it took me awhile to get myself extracted from the heap I was in.

and then I blacked out, and I woke up in the hospital, with no memory of how I got there.

Both times............pretty compelling evidence that I did indeed come back from the dead.

But I am still me. ..............who else am I gonna be???? But people gave me a wide berth after that.
