Why does my dauchshund puppy have one ear up and one down?

I recently got a dachshund and now she's about 6 months old but one of her ears it always just down and the other one is always up. Why?

She looks like a dachshund chihuahua mix. Dachshund ears to stand up like that. Dachshund ears are long.

Whatever she is, she's very cute :)

She's probably got chihuahua in her. Dachshund ears do not stand up like that.

    Either way, it's very cute.

Look mom, I'm Dumbo - almost. Too cute!! It's a puppy and it's normal -he's basically growing into them. Give it a little more time. You know, I've seen people set their dogs eats to stay up, but to stay down.

Advice: Look on the internet for "Cutest puppy pictures" contest and enter him.

How cute! She's got to be a mix, as Dachshunds have floppy ears. Those are pretty big ears to be standing and the cartilage in the one ear isn't strong enough (at least not yet) to hold it up. She's seriously cute, though, lots of character.

My mom's german shepherd has this. It's because the cartiledge in his ear never fully developed. I'm not sure if thats whats going on with yours but maybe.

And i agree with Wentz, that kind of looks like a chiweenie.

Is she a Chiweine? she doesnt look pure as he legs look long. He may be mixed with chihuahua which would explain why.
