Why do young people eat a lot and not get fat?
Young teens and people in their 20's can eat food in stupid amounts and not to put any noticeable fat.
After reading much on excercise, it's apparently useless when it comes to cancelling out the calories obtained from food (I mean, after burning 300 calories you're already exhausted)
Is the concept of calories in/calories out misleading?

People's metabolism changes over time.
Realize that you are always burning calories, even if you're just sitting. So adding up the "calories burned" in exercise won't add up.
The most important thing is to eat LOTS of healthy food, and not a lot of fat, sugar, salt, and highly-processed foods.

Your metabolism rate gets slower as you get older, so when you're younger you're naturally burning off more generally.
