Is there a secret that I'm missing to keeping sliced avocado fresh for a few hours?

I've tried lemon juice, but no success.

I'm thinking in terms of in a salad or on a sandwich, in an airtight container for a few hours between packing and eating. Any tips?

    I always rinse the avocado in lemon juice if it is to be more than 2 hours after slicing that it is served. It works just fine for me!! I can even make salad in the morning for dinner that evening and have nice avocado in it.
