Divorce help?

My parents are getting divorced. My dad and I have been spending a lot of time together. He visits me frequently at college, we spend the weekend at sporting events, bowling etc. However my mom sent me a text that im "choosing sides" and that she does a lot for me and i've abandoned her. I dont know what to say..

I'll be home in a few minutes, then if she want to take you out go or you just want to stay home. I like to go out and do things, then tell her things you like to go or do.

Mom is playing dirty pool. But don't let her bait you into trying to disprove her accusation.

My bet is that you have been telling her about the details of Dad's visits which has made her feel insecure in her perceived competition for your love. Ignore her insecurities but offer her reassurance that you love her just as much as you always have. Then in the future tell her that you see your Dad, but omit the details.

Hmm sounds like your mom is guilt tripping you. I agree with what Michael J said by calling her and saying you love her. But you're mom shouldn't make you feel bad about spending time with your dad.

Call her on the phone and talk to her. Tell her that you love her and will never abandon her. Tell her in person so she hears your voice. Don't text it. Texting is impersonal.
