Does anyone have a suggestion on how to use an Angel Food Cake IN a recipe? I have used it for fruit TRIFLE in the past but it is costly!?

Cut about 2 inches off the top or the bottom of the cake.

make a trench around the inside of the cake removing the excess. Leave about 1 inch on the sides as well as about 1 inch at the bottom.

Fill the trench with pudding then replace the top of the cake. It will look like a plain cake until you cut into it.

Another option is to toast each slice of the cake before serving it place a drizzle of chocolate or whatever flavor of syrup or sauce you want. Toasting brings out a great flavor of things like angel food cake and pound cake.

You can split an angel food cake into layers, mix coolwhip and fruit for a filling and restack the cake.

I like using angel food cake instead of short cake for strawberry short cake. it pairs well with ANY fruit and whipped cream.

You can also use chunks of angel food cake to dip in a chocolate fountain.
