My wife and I are doing a trip to Las Vegas as part of a 10 year anniversary celebration from when we first started dating. Additionally, I'm surprising her with tickets to a back street boys show while we're there (since they're her favorite and are performing) as part of her birthday gift as her b-day will overlap with the time that we will be there. I tried to make a request with the promoter group if they can persuade the group in doing a shout out to my wife that evening since it's her birthday, but they said that the group doesn't do that sort of stuff unfortunately.

Not sure if there's anything else I can do, I feel like my wife will love that she gets to go see the backstreet boys, but is there anything else I can do to make that event for her more memorable?

I think what you're doing is great. I'm guessing that you are already taking her out to a nice dinner. Maybe surprise her with flowers and write a meaningful heartfelt letter with it. The little things count and they will score you major points with her.

Get a VIP backstage pass so your wife can get photos with them maybe? Those cost way more money but it would be worth it.

I guess I'm a little puzzled why you want to do anything else. Running into her fave band while you're there is already epic! Just splurge on the best seats you can get and call it a night.

You could send her backstage to have a little fun with the band?

Get, arrange, or purchase signed memorabilia from that concert or from the band members

Sir, it's vastly more memorable than a card and a kiss on her neck while she's cooking dinner. Call it good.

I know this is the Rock&Pop forum, but many here (mostly singles) are a little off-put by "boy bands", so be advised... For those of us old marriage veterans, you're doing fine, even if you never get the hoped-for package. The 'wif won't expect that - unless you already screwed up and promised that shout-out, oops. (Always under-promise and over-deliver.)

So. Screw the promo group minions, who were a waste of time. One of the things they do is to screen the act from endless personal requests. Meanwhile, they are now turning into a 'Vegas standard, a bit like Wayne Newton, Alvin Pretzel, et al. Once in town, schmooze the closest people to the performance that you can slip a good note to, on show night. If it's a slowish night, the band might even get a better audience connection by doing a simple thing like you want. Again, don't promise it to your better half. Just roll the dice.

And a little more night-time planning might turn into something really surprising. Check this out:

Blow a wad on fine food, and don't skip flowers, etc. I hope y'all have a great time, and many more years of 'happy-happy, Louis.

Learn the songs and sing along while doing classic backstreet moves. If my husband started jamming at a Linda Ronstadt concert, he would be the all time MVP.
