Can supervisors be represented by the same union that represents the workers ?
I am just trying to understand. Is it legal in Union Laws for a supervisor to be represented by the same union that that represents the employees ? For instance, I am a law enforcment officer and our sergeants are represented by the union that represents us and can even be union reps for it. But if you are to be written up for some sort of misconduct, it would be a sergeant that would do it. Isn't this a conflict of interest ?

Yes, of course. It is a police officers union. All officers are represented.

Supervisors ARE workers. They all work for the same employer, making them all employees.

Nearly EVERY union includes some level of supervisor. EVERYONE below the Board of Directors is an employee.

They can in my state. I was a sergeant and was the union representative. The only time there was an issue was when someone needed to be disciplined. That was resolved by having the lieutenant handle it.
