I feel like I’m near the end?

I’m only 23 but I feel like I’m near the end of my life. My life savings are plummeting because I have a spending problem, my car is on its last leg, my teeth are falling out of my head due to years of drinking cans of soda every day. I just feel like it’s the end. I have some more cash to put out a musical album next year but then that’s it. I’ll have nothing left in me. I feel like I’m on borrowed time. I’ve been depressed for many years and alone for many years, basically my whole adult and adolescent life. Spent time in a mental hospital a year ago and it just feels like I’ll be like a repeat felon going back to prison all the time. Back to the hospital. Back to the finding a therapist because this one doesn’t work. Back to changing up my medication and being used like a rat in a lab. I see my parents and how they lead a healthy life and I just feel like I can’t achieve that and never will be able to. I don’t have life left in me to keep going. Nothing to fall back on. No way to make good money. I work at a restaurant currently but have tried working in trades. But that led to me having a traumatizing experience where I was verbally abused for a year and a half of my young naive life. My options are very limited, and I don’t know how much longer I can keep surviving.

I'm sorry. Don't give up. Why not take a look at the article on the website below. It talks about restoring mental health and offers practical suggestions. There are also many personal accounts of people who had situations like yours or worse in which they found the key to turning their lives around for the better. The series is called "The Bible Changes Lives"

On jw.org, go to BIBLE TEACHINGS > PEACE & HAPPINESS > THE BIBLE CHANGES LIVES.

Hoping you find some measure of comfort and peace. (Isaiah 33:24) And no resident will say: “I am sick.”

Things are going to get better even if they seem hopeless. For example, Mandela spent 27 years in prison. He stayed strong and was released and became president of his country and did a lot of good and had a great and happy life. I know of someone who was severely depressed for many years and was able to recover and live a happy life. There was a time I felt hopeless and miserable but now I am happy.

Keep on going even when you think you can’t.

I know the body feels weak, mentally you feel exhausted, and you are spiritually drained but keep on going. One day you will not suffer even if takes years and years, one day you will suffer no more and live in abundance (not by the things of this world such as value, money, a house, car, fancy clothes, etc.) but be filled in spirit! In you that is what your spirit thirst and longed for (everyone) and that is to be filled with hope, love, joy, and happiness! Even if a “good” job doesn’t work out or you’re changing medications and nothing seems to change but get worse, one thing for sure that can be transformed is your heart! Always hold this close that you are not alone! Do not rely on anyone to fill in that void.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” Mathew 7:7.
