What is it called when Parents say things like this?
No matter what help there kid has done, no matter how much work they have done, there parent will demand they do something and when they don't do it right away they say something like, "I don't know why you don't do it right as I tell you! If I was dying on the floor you till wouldn't do it!"
And all they want you to do is pick up a few clothes or take a plate in to the kitchen.
What that called?
3 AnswersParenting6 years agoName for baby boy after an anime character?
Don't worry it's nothing crazy. But ever since I watched Eureka Seven the name Holland has been burned in to my head! His character is awesome and I really don't see why naming a boy Holland would be a bad thing. I mean I can call him Andy or even Ollie, or is Ollie to old fashioned? I think I prefer Andy best really but only as a nick name. I even know someone that named her two son's, one blood related the other adopted after Sora and Riku from Kingdom hearts! Well she said they actually wanted their names to be that, something to do with Riku's adoption I think, but I should talk about something I'm not 100 percent known.
But other then that, whats really to big deal? You have actors naming their kids Pilot Inspector for god sake, even Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda after Princess Zelda of the Legend of Zelda!
I'm not pregnant or anything yet but I just thought I'd ask. When and if I ever have a boy I like the name Holland James for first and middle name. Oh and Personally I think naming girls Holland is just odd. You just gonna end up calling her Holly so just name her that.
3 AnswersBaby Names7 years agoClimbing baby safety idea's?
So no I don't have a climbing and won't for a good time, but I wanted to ask this anyway to see what others thought.
Now when I was little in the early 90's they didn't have stuff they have now for protecting toddlers, that and my Father was a cheap bastard. Other then that my mom would put this huge fluffy red pillow by my bed to protect me from falling out. Funny story is I didn't fall out of the bed until I was even older and she had stopped. Only did it Twice though.
So what I want to know is that I have this horrible fear of the day my baby climbs out of their crib and drop to the floor. So I was thinking of getting a CordaRoy's Sleeper that looks like a Bean bag chair but it's filled with fluff and turns in to a bed. I wan to put it in front of the crib so if he or she drops, they will land on the bed and either crawl off, or be so interested in the bed they'll sleep on it.

1 AnswerOther - Pregnancy & Parenting7 years agoWanting to raise and teach my children multiple Religions?
I ask that your answers not be rude, and please try not to push your own views, suggestions are fine though. Please and thank you.
Now I was raised Catholic. Funny joke is that my mother let me stay home from school during those holidays of Catholic/Christian holidays that the school gave excused absences for. Oddly not many actually took the day off, but that's okay.
Now on to my question. I was told that I would be able to choice my own religion to follow once I turned 18, so I waited. By that time came I stated that I was now Spiritual. I believe and respect all Religions, as long as they are safe and un-hurtful religions.
Now I don't go to Church myself because I pray my own way, I talk to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit almost daily and thank the high power in my life for my life and such.
With this said I want my future children to learn what I believe in but I also want them to have similar up brining as myself. Including and very important is their Christening and first Communion as I feel that is right. Now like I did after my first Communion is to let them choice if they wish to continue on going to church or not which is what my mother did.
I'm also going to take my Husband's Religion play a part too, be it Jewish or Muslim, or if he's a scientist then that's fine too! And I meant Science like facts not Scientology though I respect it I wouldn't join it as well as a few other Religions as I will always remain Spiritual.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoBringing personal choice formula to hospital?
Please read everything before answering. Please reframe from rude answers. And please know that I'm a huge advocate for breast milk so no one yell at me. Thank you.
So in the future I want to express my breast milk other then breast feed directly, my chest is rather large and I've tried the positions for women with larger breast's as a test and I don't like them. That can change of course.
But anyway I know that it can take a good time for breast milk to come in so to be safe I have an organic brand of formula that's stated to be the closet thing to the real thing already in liquid form to give to the baby until the milk comes in.
Now I haven't asked any question to the hospital yet at all but I'd like to run it by other first. Just in case they don't have the organic formula I'd feel happy to bring it in myself. Of course the moment my milk starts coming in the moment the pumps start going it's boob juice all the way.
I really feel this is a good precaution. I also have a powder of Organic Soy and just in case an Organic lactose intolerance version also. These two are from the same company but the normal organic liquid form is from another one.
If there isn't any need for any of the formula at all I hope to donate the unopened or unused containers.
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby8 years agoHELP! Substitution for corn syrup?
No one really answered my question the last time I posted this.
Okay so I want to make Marshmallows in the future, and the recipe calls for 2/3 cup of corn syrup the lite kind.
Now they say Agave is like 25% sweeter and so you use less. Now I figure that I might use half a cup instead?
Also Honey is also a choice I have. Now I've read many times that I could use and equal cup of Honey to replace an equal cup of corn syrup.
Now since the recipe calls for the above 2/3 cup of corn syrup then would I be able to use the equal of honey?
I know this is silly but this is driving me nuts cause I really don't want to have to use corn syrup, not even the organic kind, cause I just don't like that it's in everything!
I've also found flavored Agave syrups too. Two I really like are the Chocagave and Vanillagave syrups that would most likely taste really good. They are called dessert syrups but then again I've heard Agave can be used as pancake syrup so I'm guessing there isn't much of a difference other then sweetness.
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes8 years agoContinuing Organic diet in Hospital after Labor?
Friend and myself are wondering if it's possible for us to keep eating our organic food diet in the hospital before and after giving birth. Were both fully organic and baby planning for the future. We both want to know answers now so we can be prepared. We would have our family members bring in our meals cause I remember the hospital saying that outside food was fine unless the hospital had us on a special diet. We both feel strong about keeping as much crap out of our babies bodies as long as we can until they can crawl and then their caught eating dirt.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby8 years agoWho is what in Law? Relation through Marriage.?
Okay so my mother always told me that the parents of the bride and groom just become in-laws once the couple is married.
But I saw something recently that made me wonder about that.
It stated that the father of the bride was the brother-in-law of the Grooms mother and father and that the Grooms mother was the Brides father's sister-in-law and the Grooms father was the Brides fathers brother-in-law. Note the Bride and Groom aren't related at all, not cousins or anything.
So is this just a typo or when I get married will my future husbands parents become my mom's sister and brother-in-law?

4 AnswersOther - United States8 years agoHigh School Dropout or Tossed Aside?
A good friend of mine dropped out of school many years ago.
She was a nice person, friendly, and had not any discipline problems. We had many friends and we were both in the same club.
She was great at art, and she told me it was her best class.
I really feel bad for her. She was held back in tenth grade, and that's when it all started.
I would look at her classes and they were horribly jumbled, always changing her classes, and never gave her any classes she wanted. We had cooking class but you really can't even call that class a cooking class because he hardly cooked anything.
I remember her telling me that only one teacher used to help her with her science class work, one on one. But it didn't work.
What I hate is the fact is that we soon didn't have any classes together but it was clear that something was wrong. She was a large girl, but was never bullied ever, no one could because she stood up for herself. She would be out of school a lot but normally just for colds and things, she didn't have any bad problems. What was funny is that for a girl her size she didn't eat that much.
I remember when she dropped out. She was 18 the school year had only just started a few months ago. No one, not a single person tried to stop her, the teacher that was meant to guide her just smiled and signed the papers like she was just sending trash away. I was with her when she was having it signed. All the teachers she had at the time were kind to her they understood her reasons, all but her art teacher wanted her to stay, wanted to help her. But that was it.
The next day she was gone.
I remember her telling me that school was making her sick. Even her mother who I talked to said that she hated herself for not seeing or doing anything to help. All she could do was to let her escape the Hell we called High School.
It took her a long time to find a job, about four years, but I could see she was loving it. She loved helping people and getting a pay check to help out her mom. Then three months in to it, her asshole boss fired her and then he told her why he hired her, so that she would live him alone and stop asking for a job. Made me sick! Good thing though is now he's fired and the store is gone, but that's issues I really don't know about.
She's been looking for a job since after that.
I ask you when someone like my friend like's coming to school, tried every week and pushed herself to win only to fail, had lots of friends, and was the kind of person who should have been top of the class have this happen?
I ask you to answer. Did she Dropout because she was bad student or was she tossed aside by a system that did nothing but break her?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)8 years agoJob for a 6 foot 3 basketball player?
So I'm doing a story with a basketball player but I'm not sure if after university is done he'll go to play pro or get a normal job. He's hot-headed, stubborn, has a short temper, but he isn't a violent person unless someone really pisses him of or hurts his girlfriend who's very small for her age. He's strong and secretly shy. He also has a fear of ghost's and he's uneasy with large breed dogs. He likes moving around but is best at taking orders, most of the time, then giving them. He's also a little bit of an idiot but he try's his best.
So a job at a desk would drive him made, no fast food stuff, or retail.
2 AnswersBasketball8 years agoResearch on Japan Fire Fighters?
So I'm doing research in to Japanese Fire Fighters for a story. I know anime and manga tend to miss lead things with comedy and stuff, plus there's only one Firefighting manga out there that I know of and I can only find a small portion of it.
SO my questions are, if anyone can give me something anything on the daily life of a Japanese Fireman living in Tokyo.
My character is young out of university and married young in his 20's, so is his wife, no children. So I'm really looking for some good information to help this story out.
I know that they do have family apartments for firefighters but I don't think it's all stations.
Really what I'm looking for is about schedule's and daily routines and things. Shift changes, time off, things like that. OH and average salary too. Just as much information I can get really.
3 AnswersJapan8 years agoWrong to have a Marriage Ultimatum?
I'm not in a relationship right now, but I'm getting closer to 30, eww, and my best friend just got married to her 7 year live with boyfriend, so I feel kinda pathetic.
But I can tell you that's not why I have an ultimatum. I've actually had it for about 2 or so years.
Now this is my ultimatum. Once the happy day comes that I find a wonderful man that agrees to a monogamous relationship, which in my mind is with in the first 3 months of dating, and he and I both are looking for life partners not just dating, then should I give my ultimatum of with in a 1 1/2 to 2 years be married. Okay engaged by 1 1/2 years, then married by 2 years, something like that.
I'd like to think some men would get turned on by this, and plus I'm not the kind of crazy girl that drags a guy to a jewelry store and just about demands to get married. I have the ultimatum so that we have a window to live to gather and sink in to a rhythm and see if we can stand each other. Not to mention my mother would be living with us, she's frail, so he'd have to have a good relationship with my mom.
So what do you think about this? And please be nice, no rude comments ladies and gentlemen.
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce8 years agoDating and Blow-jobs?
Okay so I'm not in a relationship right now, one due to the fact I'm poor and don't want to look like a gold digger, and two I'm over weight and trying to lose it first.
Now my question is I want to save myself for marriage, I think it would be sweeter, but when I'm with someone and I know him enough and if and when were "there" I'd like to give him some pleasure by blow and hand-jobs. I think it would be a nice little gift once were "there".
I'd like to know what you think about this. Is it a good idea to do this or do you have any doubts?
I'm gonna make sure he's been checked out first, and I'm making sure I'm going with him to the appointment just so he knows I'm serious about health, both his and mine.
I also want to add I think that doing this will get him used to condoms, and I've heard they have cute flavored ones! ^^
6 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoWhat Samurai Jack Episode?
Okay so I remember the only episode I really liked in the intire series and I can't find it or know what it is. Now what I remember about it is that Jack shows up in this city, maybe Tokyo, and is helped by a Japanese man and brought to the man's home where Jack meets the man's wife and two daughters, one little girl and one teenager. The teen is on the phone but once she see's Jack she starts telling her friend about how Jack is in her house, but at the end of the episode I think they turn out to be nothing more then a really good trap set by Aku to have Jack put his guard way down. WHAT EPISODE IS THIS?!

1 AnswerDrama9 years agoIs it wrong or a bad thing to start preparing for a baby when your not in a relationship?
So yeah I'm not in a relationship, and no where near it. I'm not one of those women who wants a baby so badly she's crazy, I'm just planning for a future that could come in a few or more years. Some people think that it's silly and hate listening to me when I go off in to information on baby things, but then others are so grateful that I helped them with question on the same baby things.
I don't just plan for the baby I plan everything. Well almost everything. I can't for tell the future. But I've got lot of stuff thought of that I think is a good idea. Why wait until it's to late or if something crazy happens. That's how I feel about it?
5 AnswersParenting9 years agoIs it wrong to live by a culture when your raised in another?
Is it wrong to use a different culture then how I was raised?
I am very fond of the different lifestyles of multiple cultures. My most loved is the japanese and french, with Japan winning out. Now I was raised in and with american culture and standards, I am an american mutt in words, but for the longest time taking baths and showers followed the japanese style, including bathing with my mother even after I was old enough to clean myself. This happend just naturaly at first, but then as my fondness of the japanese culture grew quickly I found that if it wasn't an issue over there why should it be with me. Even my mother doesn't mind because any questions I had about my body compairing it to hers were answered truthfully. We still do take showerd now and then, but mostly alone because our bathroom is to small right now. A lot of people would think that's strange or incestrous, but this is our belief, but I'm going to keep doing it even when I have children.
I would be happy to continue to bathe with my own daughter for as long as she wants, but not if I have a son, he can bathe with his father, which I think would help with the issues boys tend to have, plus great way for them to bond through talking. I feel that it's good to let your children know that their parent of the same sex is safe to see each other in the nude, or else they'll be body conscious. I feel it will also help with the future when needing to change in a locker room at school or in a gym. I've seen women I don't even know butt nude in gym locker rooms, but I feel more shocked then embarresed. With todays standards preteen girls become upset even when there mothers see them nude, and I found that sad, because feeling they have to cover up to the woman that birthed them is just wrong in my mind. I'm spiritual and give respect to all religions, I also feel that living by my own personal culture is the same as being able to have the choice to pick your own religion.
