Trumps Tax Reform Act Who was behind this turkey of a ‘tax cut’ bill?
Trumps Tax Reform Act
Who was behind this turkey of a ‘tax cut’ bill that adversely affects many taxpayers, particularly low-income people who can least afford it.
While businesses got an across-the-board rate reduction, individuals lost the personal exemption deduction and possibly ran into the SALT limitation. Low income seniors with high medical expenses got particularly hit hard.
Why were long-standing deductions/expenses eliminated or reduced on a personal level? Why are taxpayers in high-tax states pitted against heir local government to revolt and reduce taxes? Are they encouraging migration to lower-tax states and falling real estate values in the Northeast?
It certainly was a mean-spirited bill and Trump’s advisors better make some radical changes to the bill.

6 AnswersPolitics2 years agoCan a neighbor demolish a retaining wall?
J Our neighbor to the rear of our property installed a pool in an undersized area last year. He doesn’t have much room around the pool so he knocked down a retaining wall which was 5 feet interior to his property. Without our knowledge, he then bulldozed up to the cyclone fence separating our properties , excavating an area approximately 35’x5’ by 3’ high. The fence is loose and sections are damaged and hanging in mid-air. The soil is eroding from our property. The town of Brookhaven says the issue is not under its jurisdiction and classifies it as a dispute between neighbors. We consulted an attorney and was advised to wait until he finishes to ascertain damages.
My question at this point is: our house, which we purchased in 2002, was built in 1966. The neighbor’s house was built around 1999 or 2000. I believe the retaining wall was created when that house was built to level level the property.

I m planning to buy a new laptop to replace my 10 year old Dell desktop. I am looking at a Gateway laptop-4GB memory 500 GB hard drive. It is a good price compared to the main brands.
Will Gateway be around to honor any warranty and is their quality up there? I know they used to be a major competitor of Dell years ago.
