  • What's a good and cheap cover for a drafting table top?

Regular covers and cutting mats are way outside of my budget. There's gotta be a cheaper alternative out there. The size of my table top also makes this a bit of a challenge (30" x 42").

I use the table mostly for taking very detailed notes while doing homework.

I'm open to any help on this.

  • Are Flow Team Members at Target allowed to work part time?

I'm thinking about applying. I know many of them go in at 4am but I'm not sure what time they get off. I would love to do this part time but it looks like a full time only position.

Does anyone have any information on this?

  • How do you safely signal to cars behind you that you're braking?

My bike stops really fast!!! What's the proper way to brake so that you give the person behind you enough time to see that you're slowing down with your brake light.

I flash the brake light for people but I don't know if that's enough.

  • Do I need a motorcycle VIN number to get insurance in NC?

I live in North Carolina and I'm trying to get a license to purchase and operate a 150cc motorcycle.

In North Carolina you must have a license for an automobile before you can get an endorsement for a motorcycle. Right now I'm learning how to drive a van so I can get a motorcycle endorsement.

Before you can get a license for an automobile you must have proof of liability insurance (DMV form DL-123).

Do I actually need a vehicle with a VIN number to get liability insurance?

Or do I have to purchase non-owners insurance first and then switch it over to motorcycle insurance after I get an automobile license with motorcycle endorsement?

  • How to get a motorcycle license in Raleigh, North Carolina?

I just want to operate a 149cc scooter.

I don't think I'm allowed to buy one without a motorcycle endorsement.

I never learned how to drive a car because I grew up riding public transit.

I'm not interested in learning how to drive a car because it's too expensive and I'm trying to live within my means.

I know I'm allowed to legally operate a 49cc moped without a license but I don't want to be that guy on the road with a line of angry cagers behind him.

(And there's no way I'm riding a restricted 49cc engine on public roads because that just doesn't seem safe to me.)

I have a Class C learner's permit but I can't take the driving test because I just don't feel comfortable driving those cars. (I can only get about 30 minutes practice a week.)

I contacted the DMV. They said I need take this up with law enforcement. I don't know what that means. I think I know what that means and if it means what I think it means then it's another dead end.

Some local motorcycle organizations have been trying to get the law changed but the politicians won't budge. I've written the governor's office and state representatives but I don't expect much to come of that.

    I want to be licensed.

    I want to be insured.

I want to take the MSF course.

I'm trying to be legal but the law is making it really hard.

Is there anyway around all this???

  • Does anyone have an opinion about Blackline GPS Snitch?

I'm seriously considering getting one of these for a scooter but I'm investigating before making a final decision.

Personal experiences with the product are greatly appreciated.

Seems like an excellent anti-theft/vehicle tracking device.

  • How does North Carolina legally define a car?

I'm a little disappointed with the traditional design of vehicles and seriously considering an alternative approach to personal mobility. Before I do this, I need to know what it means for a car to be street legal in North Carolina.

I'm also very poor but at the same time I don't want to waste years of my life making payments on a used P.O.S. Before I do something radically different, I need to know what the state of North Carolina will allow me to operate.

  • Is it illegal to walk along side the road if there is no sidewalk?

I live outside of Raleigh, NC and walking around here is a real pain. Maybe that's part of the reason why there's so many fat people.

Anyway, I'm just wandering if I'm in the right here and if it's okay to walk outside?

  • What can I do to my floor to make life easier for my downstairs neighbor that complains about stomping?

I try to walk softly, but this apartment building is so old and the floor creeks everywhere.

My roommate is heavy footed and she looks miserable whenever I tell her to stop stomping. She'll respond with, "I'm not stomping!"

We were downstairs cooking and cleaning the kitchen and my neighbor said it sounded like we were moving furniture.

That's just the way she walks.

I know more carpeting will help dampen the sound but...

The only other alternative I can think of is building a noiseless walking platform and decks.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Do poor people who actually work for a living get royally screwed when it comes to paying taxes?

    No property.

    No money for investments.

    Many people with personal vehicle.

    No home for home improvements.

If I had kids your tax dollars would be paying for them.

    No money for education.

The easiest way to get a tax credit or higher deductions seems to be going into debt.

    Am I misguided?

    Is it just me?

    No comedians please...

If you can't relate... don't answer the question.

  • How to own a house with no established credit?

I've been living in my apartment for for about 5 years and have put about $35,000 into this box I will never own. With that kinda money I could've picked up at least a modest centerblock home somewhere.

I need ideas on how I can own my own property. I don't really care if it's a sharecroppers shack as long as it's my property that I can invest more into.

The only way I can think of to build up enough credit and money to buy a home is to work hard and live on streets for a few years or stay with a girl that's on section 8 to save money.

    Any help would be appreciated.
