  • I have a 4 and half month old Jack Russell who has just started loosing her baby teeth?

my husband just happened to look at her front teeth quickly and he seems to think they are growing straight out, is that possible? I am thinking more likely it is the loose baby teeth working there way out or the permanent teeth not out enough

  • Painless bandage removal?

I have an incision about 1.5 - 2 inches long on my lower back. Dissolving stitches were used. For the most part there is no longer pain, but there is a 6" long x 4" wide bandage and steri strips that need to come off. I have very sensitive skin and whenever I pull...it hurts! The other ones were removed a few days after surgery by the nurse but I want this off. Anyone know how to get it off painlessly?

  • Leaking shower head or bigger problem?

I own a rental property, last June I began renting to some elderly tenants who removed the showerhead that was there and replaced with one of those removeable wand type heads. Within just a few months, maybe even weeks we began to notice that ONLY when the shower is on we get a drip from the shower to the basement. We are able to look up from underneath and are pretty sure it is coming from above the faucet and on/off fixture. The showerhead has a plastic thread attachment as opposed to metal. Is it possible that this could simply be the showerhead or is it more likely a pipe or connector problem and I will have to remove a wall. Also, there was never a problem until this showerhead was put on.

  • Brand new basement hopper windows wont open?

Last September we had brand new Harvey basement hopper windows installed. Due to a few screw ups by the contractor they were installed late September so they were installed and have remained closed since. My husband tried to opne them today and none of them will open (4) They have no locks just a grab bar thing that you twist and then pull the window open. The installer won't come out unless I pay them. I know they are supposed to be a bit tough to open due to the weather sealing but my husband had a foot on the wall and was hanging and they still won't open. Now What????

  • Is any particular type of financial institution "safer" to open a Roth IRA with?

Say comparing a large company like Charles Schwab to a local credit union? I am so concerned about opening one and then having the company go under and losing everything. I know I have to do it soon though.

  • Need serious emergency but temporary help with a basement wall leak!!!?

In the stairwell in my basement that goes from the storage area up the stairs and out the Bilco doors, there is a seam which appears to be where the foundation meets a "concrete header" that the bilco doors were placed on. During heavy rain a few areas of this seam leak, runs down the wall and under the storage room door. We are expecting very heavy rain Sunday. I am planning to buy some bagged sand to build up along the outside a bit but what is the best way to seal, even temporarily until spring this seam. All I see is to chisel it all out and I don't feel I am handy enough HELP I cannot let my finished basement flood!

  • Problem with electric baseboard heat...?

We have electric baseboard heat, over the last few months we have been replacing the old thermostats. When we remove the existing thermostat we are finding 6 wires in the wall, 2 black, 2 red and 2 white. However, the electric thermostats only have 4 wires, 2 black and 2 red. I am concerned about malfunction even though the heaters are working. I also cannot find anything online about thermostats for lectric heat with 6 wires. Does anyone know anything about why there are 6 instead of 4 and if the heaters are working, thermostats turning on and off at temp if there is still any danger??

  • My electric baseboard heat won't shut off?

I have electric baseboard heat, we noticed 2 years ago that the heaters would go on, but not turn off when the room got to tempurature, so we replaced all the thermostats. Still had the same problem so we just replaced all the baseboard heaters thinking maybe new thermostats weren't compatible with the old heaters. Still, the heat will come on and not go off. If you put the heat at like 65, the room goes to about 90, to keep the room comfortable we have to put the thermostat at like 50. No batteries go in these and they are not mercury thermostats. Just a dial with temp's on them. We do have 2 that are different - they have a dial and a gauge that tells you the temp of the room and they work fine. Any reason why new thermostats would not work properly?? Also the thermostats were installed by an electrician so they are done right and were actaully done twice because he did it the 1st time and they still didn't shut off so they were redone.

  • Does a musty smell in a finished basement always mean mold or can it just be humidity?

Is this possible that it just needs a dehumidifier and air circulation? There is nothing in terms of visible mold or mildew.

  • Best way to handle an overbearing co-worker?

What is the best way to handle an overbearing, power hungary, nosy, control freak of a supervisor in a very small informal office? She has to know everything that is going on, be in control of everything. But the worst is she mis interprets things (phone conversations with customers, discussions with other employees etc) saying I was loud or lost my cool when I really do not feel I did. Her misinterpretations affect my performance reviews! She is also belittling, judgmental and a bit snooty. She hates her job and being here everyday and makes the rest of us miserable.

  • For the last several years I have been suffering from severe pain....?

jaw soreness and muscle spasms (left side of my head) forehead tightness and scalp tenderness. Went to a million doctors and was being treated for anxiety and migraines with Xanax and Topomax. On a whim I tryed a dental nightguard and after a few days the spasms stopped and after 2 weeks the jaw soreness is gone, but I cannot seem to get rid of the tightness in my forehead or the scalp tenderness. I am grateful to FINALLY have some relief but would love to rid myself of the rest of these annoying symptoms, any ideas?

  • How is "water hammer" fixed. The banging noise you hear when a specific faucet is turned on?

I was told previously that because this was only in the bathroom and only the hot water it was simply the hot water making the cooler pipes expand and that it was nothing to worry about and nothing could really be done. Now, through research I am learning it is called "water hammer" and over time can cause premature aging of pipes, fixtures and valves. So what is to be done if it is just the hot water in the bathroom sink?

  • For metal Bilco doors?

There are a few rust spots starting to appear. Do we have to sand off the old paint or can we just buy the Krylon spray paint for metal and spray right over the old stuff?

  • Question about probability of termite reoccurance?

After professional treatment was done 2 1/2 years ago using Termidor. According to my research this is the best product on the market, application was done properly, a trench was dug around the entire perimeter of the house, holes drilled into the concrete porches. We haven't seen anything since however, I thought I saw a swarmer on my porch this morning.

  • Does anyone know the chance of reoccurance of termites after treatment with Termidor by a professional?

pest control company after only 3 years? All of my research and the paperwork I was given says this stuff is the best and lasts a good 10 years. Procedure was done properly, trench was dug all the way around the house, holes were drilled into the concrete porches. Just wondering with spring coming if I should get an inspection, we haven't seen anything since the treatment in 2006 but I could have sworn I saw a swarmer on my porch this morning.
