At the age of 50, (as of Friday, February the 23rd of 2007) I'm currently pursuing my freelance writing, which I have been doing off and on since 1981. I've also edited a couple of small circulation literary magazines, from 1998 - 2002. The "K" stands for Kanter, by the way.

  • What do you call it?

Some pronounce it "Catch-up", others insist

    on calliing it "Cats-up."

As for me, I won't touch it, let alone even say

the common nickname of tomato paste! (To

    me it's just... "Grotesque!")

But, what do you call it?

  • What's the easiest way?

And, the best way to do it free-of-charge

(preferably). I want to create an blog site

where people can freely post their thoughts

    about any and anything.

    Your thoughts, please?

  • My final question at this site is: "What gives.."?

My PC began giving my an error message this afternoon

about IM32FAX.DIL missing. After dong a bit of googling,

I found out that IM32FAX.DIL has something to do with a

    LEXMARK printer--something I've never had; I have a

DELL Dimension 8110, and I've always used a DELL

    printer.

So, what gives? (And what can I do to correct this weird

    error?)

  • What is your favorite..?

Of all categories on the Yahoo! Q&A site,

which is your favorite, and why?

  • Best answers can be wrong. So..?

I don't mind telling you that Bobcatt99 was when he

guessed, "The Same Old Song"; and Steppenwolf

    is incorrect too.

So, here's the question again--and this, time... with

    one additional clue.

A group that established themselves in '65 released

their first hit the following year. The song was not just

"the same old" song--nor was any member of this

group black. The title of the 1st hit, though, might've

suggested that it was a bore.

Now, name the group, and you'll get not just one...not

just two... but 12 points! (And, if you correctly guess

the group's original name, 5 stars.)

Oh, and... again, they were established in the USA.

But the two names they had suggested otherwise.

Good luck. No one's been even close to correct yet.

  • What word would it be..?

If there's any one certain word in the English language

that you don't like the sound of, and don't like saying,

    what word would that be?

And I'm not necessarily referring to profane words --

like the sort that people put in their questions and/or

answers, which Yahoo! does this with: *************** .

Ten points and 5 stars if your answer just happens to

be the very same as the one that, for me, is known as

    the "h" word.

  • Now that the Angels..?

Managed to clinch their division for the 3rd time in four

years, who, besides me, thinks they are World Series-

    bound again?

And, if they do make it there... who do you think they'll

    be up against?

  • Is there any way..?

It's been seeming, this year, that despite forwarding

spam that comes from Yahoo-related addresses to

their mail-abuse department, I'm getting bombarded

with more spam than ever before.

Is there any way to keep it out of my inbox? I wouldn't

mind if it went into my "bulk" box--because I never

bother to look in that one!

And, please, don't tell me to use the "block addresses"

option. That'll keep out any of the addresses that I put

on the list. But NOT any new ones--which, sort of like

    viruses, are being created daily.

  • A scary scenario..?

I found out, just this afternoon, that my home phone

number used to belong to "The Halloween Shoppe."

If you found that out about your number, what would

    your first thought be?

  • How many of you have heard from..?

A spammer who wants to give you a discount on

  • Why do you thik it is..?

A lot of people on this site answer any and all

questions in the rudest way they possibly can.

What do you think their reasons are?

  • Led Zepplin is also wrong. So..?

Time to revise and repost the question.

The question is: a group established in

'65, released their first hit, the following

year. The song was not boring to listen

to, but its title could've suggested that

    it was.

Ten extra point and 5 stars, guaranteed

to the 1st person who correctly guesses

not only the name of the song, but also

the name of this group when the song

was released, and their original name.

You want one clue? All right. That much,

I can give you. Here's your one clue:

The group was established in the USA.

However, both of the two names they'd

    had suggested otherwise.

    Good luck, everyone.

  • Soy solamente curioso..?

Yo se el musica grupo "The Beatles", en espanol

no es "Los Escarabajos"--por que "escarabajos"

en ingles es "beetles." ?Pero, es "The Who", en

espanol "Los Quien", o algo diferente?

Mucho gracias. (Y siento, mi espanol es meno

    que perfecto.)

  • Canadian Christians' turn..?

Let's say you are sitting on a bus stop bench, reading

The Bible. A tall, slim man in a long white robe and

sandals, with long hair and a beard walks up to you

and, seeing what you're reading, says to you: "I see

that you are at peace, my dear friend. You know my

name. And, lo... I am at peace, too, knowing that.

"You have a good heart. God bless you..."

(And, just before this man walks away, he correctly

    speaks your name.)

What would your immediate reaction be?

I posted this question in the US section, yesterday eve.

I pointed out that I'm not trying to mock Christianity. I'm

    just interested in knowing:

    1) If you are sure that the second-coming of Jesus is an

eventuality, what would it take to convince you that of that

    happening?

    2) How would you perceive any sort of mysteriously un-

    explainable event?

Thanks, in advance, for all of your answers!

    Peace.

  • Why are some Christians..?

So very unimaginative? I've asked a number of

questions--two of just this evening--about purely

hypothetical scenarios that would be, were they

to actually occur, very different than The Bible

    would lead them to believe.

Yet, they seem so unwilling to even ponder any

    such thing.

Interesting. (And I have heard so many suggest,

over the years that "non-believers" have closed

    minds!)

What's that old saying that comes to mind, here?

Ah, yes. "The pot is calling the kettle black."

  • What if Jesus Christ returned tomorrow..?

And there were two mysterious questions to ask aout

    the event:

    1) It happened in a very ordinary way; not at all like The

    Bible says it will happen.

    2) He told you: "My dear friends, I bring tidings of great

sadness. All you that you have read, in the book of my

    Father's word, is false.

"Yet, alas, I am even sadder than any of you. For, you

see, this is something which, nay... not even I, Jesus

Christ the Lord, His only begotten Son... am able to

    explain."

Just like,my previous question, which I deleted, be-

cause I felt a lot of people missed my point, I'm only

asking out of interest about how you perceive any

sort of event that was not immediately explainable.

(I've never told anyone they're wrong to believe in

God. It's not for me to tell anyone how to live.)

    Peace.

And, again: thanks, in advance, for all answers.

  • Weird, or what?

    When I logged into Yahoo!'s Q & A, three and-a-half

hours ago, I had one less "best answer" than I do now.

Then... about 90 minutes ago, I logged out, logged-in

again 15 mins. later, and was told another answer of

    mine had been chosen as best answer: a total of 216;

I went from 6,064 (total) pts., to 6,000... and 84!

Just before I posted this question, I had 6,093. (But, I

looked several times, and that 216th best answer is

nowhere to be found in my email box!) What gives?

  • Nostalgia fans..?

In the early days of radio, an antacid was advertised

  • Try this one, ' 60s music fans..?

A group that established themselves in 1964 made a

guest appearance on a TV series, in 1970: a series in

which Ricardo Maltoban, Stuart Margolin and Gavin

    MacLeod--amongst several other stars--were in.

Also, on this one episode, one the group's biggest hits

    was played.

    Who was this group?

A gauranteed 10 extra points, and 5 extra stars, to the

first person who can correctly guess not only the group

in-question, but also the name of the TV series and the

    song that was played.

    Good luck, everyone!

  • All right, UK fans of The Who...?

No one got my previous question about a Who song.

A good guess or two. Anyway, let's try again, with a

    brand-new clue.

(But this time, only one word from a verse of the

    song in-question. What! Only one?)

Hey... nothing ventured, nothing gained. Eh? Have

    fun!

    "Me..."

    Good luck, everyone!
