Why was ability to select recipient of a reply removed? And do you have work-arounds?
Suddenly we can no longer select the recipient of our reply and reply privately to a member. After 10 years of using groups, poof, this feature was removed with no warning. Can someone explain what workaround if any, a member can now use if he wants to reply privately to a post? Most large groups keep the member lists private to protect against spam etc.

Hi Echo, can you have a look at our group that has 2144 members and starts with hrp - We cannot see the messages in our archive. We can see messages in Topics view but get a purple "sorry an error has occurred loading the content" message/ bar at bottom of the screen when we try to see the messages in "messages" tab. It makes it look like the whole archive is gone!

Please look at your activity logs. We are seeing very alarming bug/virus looking activity in our two large groups and we've consulted with other large group owners and they see it too.
No way to pull up a new customer care form so i've had to reply to an existing issue that i was corresponding to the Yahoo customer care folks about.
Please ask the product team to look in to this.
Very disconcerting.

Actually is affecting way more then just moderator notifications of pending messages. It also affects ANY private reply sent via NEO Message poster to anyone with an APPLE product regardless of their mail client ( Ymail for iphone / Gmail for iphone/ mac mail on computer/ mail on iphone/ outlook for mac). Messages are illegible as they are base64 encoded. This is occurring as of 10/8 when Yahoo! made a change to the NEO message poster.
Please help us by fixing this and prioritizing so that our participants can enjoy the new groups.

Login on Refresh bug is back! + we can't see our groups on left hand side anymore.
This bug that was present last week is now back.
We are forced to re-login on refresh and can't see our groups on the left hand side anymore - Just like last week. Can't perform any action without relogging in a million times. Can't work.

As of yesterday several moderators are reporting that their pending message notifications are coming through as base64 encoded text or as attachments that can't be opened. This makes moderating messages on any device other than a computer impossible. So no moderating by iphone/ipad etc because we can't actually read the text of the pending message. This also means that we can't copy/ paste in our email client to reject a message with reason.

We have a new problem today: moderator notifications are coming to our in boxes with garbled text - we can't read/approve messages via email because we can't read them
Pending messages are coming in to our inboxes are illegible with text like this:

We can see the text normally via web interface in the pending queue. But this makes moderating on the go or via our inbox impossible. It also makes it really hard to do the manual rejection with reason thing because we don't have a legible message in our inbox to forward back to poster. Can you please let engineering know?

We have had two incidents whereby we see in our activity logs in our membership area that a gmail member's settings appear to have changed and it says in the log : "<xxxxxxx@gmail.com> by system via support".
The result is:
1- we cannot see these members in our member list anymore
2- they still receive digests
3- they cannot login in to groups.yahoo.com
4- the messages they send bounce (you can see that in activity logs)
5- they cannot unsubscribe via the unsubscribe email address and get a message saying they are not members of the group despite still receiving the digests and not having been removed or unsubscribed
6- If they create a new YAhoo! account and add their gmail as their alternate primary address the yahoo! profile won't accept it when they try to re-join our groups with that method.
The result is they can only join with either a new gmail or a new yahoo but we cannot remove their original email, they continue to get digests, and they can't unsubscribe or login.
Can you please advise?

I would like to report an issue to customer care and i use the drop down menus via the "contact customer care" link on help central - but none of them today offers the options of filling in a customer care form. I don't get the envelope symbol despite selecting the "issue is not listed" option. Nothing I do works to retrieve that icon. How can I report an issue if this way doesn't open up a vehicle to report an incident?

Dear Yahoo!
I've noticed many fixes to Neo Groups and it's looking great, although I really miss many of the moderator tools that were removed and hope you can restore them. I just wanted to ask if there is an issue today with sign-in as i seem to have to repeatedly sign in to the account every time i try and perform an action ( read a message, reply, do admin stuff) etc. This is new and I checked with other moderators and they too are experiencing same issue. It's worth adding that also when we sign back in we don't see our groups listed on the left hand side - we see the generic menu.
Is your team working on the back-end? Is this a temp glitch? any info or re-assurance would be great. Also - don't see option to leave us signed in for 2 weeks once signed in - seems to have gone from login.
Thanks for all your hard work to deliver us a new and improved product. I am growing to really love it in many ways although I sure miss some of the essential moderator tools we found so helpful before.

People I've invited to join the group are today getting errors when they try to login to Yahoo! with their g-mail to join the groups that way. So they can't join by going to the group and clicking join button because they get a 404 error/ bad request and they can't join via invitation.
Is this a bad joke? Please issue an announcement about this universal problem affecting many groups. It will help us direct people to your support page/ announcement. So they don't waste their time trying a million things on their end when it's a Yahoo! bug.

I've tested this across many groups and when you are not logged in and you try to click "JOIN GROUP" you get an error page that says:

We are getting multiple emails and phone calls from people who go to the URL of our groups and are seeing "bad request" URL doesn't work type messages. I don't have the text verbatim. Happened to me too as owner and I was able to get back in to my groups by logging out, then logging in to groups.yahoo.com and then searching for my group in search groups, then suddenly it reattached my yahoo! ID to my groups whereas prior to the search it resulted as if I had NO groups myself. Can you please look in to this. Very time consuming to hand hold hundreds of members on a Sunday while trying to also do all the admin work that NEO has made 10 steps instead of previous 1 click. Also very scary as group owner to see your ID not reflect your groups.

I see a trend in some of our groups for people to create facebook groups even though they are on our Yahoo groups. I think this is because they can then see activity in their daily FB feed on their phones and because there is a FB app. Will you be creating a mobile groups app? I think it would be really useful.

I see that you have added sponsored content in the list view of messages. I find this really a huge turn off. Many groups are supportive in nature and to see the conversations interrupted in this way is a real turn off. Can't you move the ads to the right hand side?
Most importantly, since it appears to follow the Facebook model - will members be able to hide this content from their view as they can in facebook? Or will they not have a choice?
Again - please explore a premium option with membership management features (like meetup/big tent, etc) and event registrations. It would be most needed and most useful.

I've now reported our issues 5 times and provided information (screenshots/page source) 5 times to customer care regarding the fact that a) files do not perform per their settings b) members receive an error message when trying to join our group and c) they have removed the option to send automatic messages to people upon pending membership. They've told me the issue was being escalated, they have answered back asking for the same info all over again, and I re-send it. And yet no fix. Has anyone managed to find a solution to the issue of files not going out per scheduled settings? Do I just have to delete all our files? start from scratch? And when i do upload a new file, it does not retain the schedule settings we establish for it. It never appears in our notification are of our control panel. I am so incredibly disappoointed with Yahoo! after 9 years of loyalty to them despite having been taken out to dinner by Big Tent, and invited to have coffee with google reps, we stuck with Yahoo! And this is what we get.

Just found out a NEW problem with NEO: When people reply privately to a sender who is no longer an active member (via NEO interface) the reply gets sent to the moderator - we are a moderated group - thank goodness. We have tested this and believe it's a glitch. PLEASE ESCALATE TO ENGINEERING. I am sure you can replicate in your test groups by having a test account post, removing that member, and then having another member reply to that post. See for yourself. And if it's not a universal thing then PLEASE FIX OUR GROUPS!
