  • Which Small Claims Court Do I Sue In?

So we were planning a trip this summer. We live in City A. We rented a limo in City B in another state. Our plans changed and I went back to the limo company asking to return our $650 deposit. The company will not return our phone calls nor our emails. It looks clear that I will need to go to small claims court to recover those funds. Do I sue in my jurisdiction of the jurisdiction of the limo company?

  • What is the average cost of a Premium Interocular Lens replacement?

I will have to have Cataract Surgery in my right eye. I know that my insurance will cover the surgery and a basic lens but I would like to know if anyone know roughly how much I can expect to pay for a Premium Lens. Also, I am very interested in the Tecnis Symphony Lens so if anyone has any experience with this lens, I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks...

  • What other sites out there are similar to Yahoo?

I have been a Yahoo User for years but the level of advertising they are throwing at us is really getting to be rediculous and I am looking for a new home page. I know that I cannot avoid advertising, I am just looking for a better mix of content to advertising. Any Suggestions?

  • Legal Eagles. I have a quick question..?

    Here's the Cliff's Notes version.

I was injured at work. Workers comp denied my claim.

I got at legal firm. They were going to file for Workers Comp, then they heard the whole story. We have to file by July. It is likely they will be going for Willful Negligence.

I was in a 6 hour deposition. The defense is the Attorney for the insurance company that handles the Worker's Comp.

My premise is that my injuries are due to "X".

The Defense premise is that my injuries are due to "Y".

So my question is that, if we go for Willful, that is bypassing the Insurance company, and going after the employer directly.

And they have their own Attorney's.

Would they be restricted to arguing the Insurance companies case for "Y" or can they come in and say, we ignore that and argue that this was due to "Z".

Yes, I know that I should address this to my Attorney, and I have, but I would like to know your opinion.

    Thanks

  • How to keep cats from using my new vegetable garden as a toilet?

Coming out of the gate, I don't like cats, but I accept that they also inhabit this planet.

I have a new home and built a great square foot garden, the soil of which is perfect for cats.

I have always placed hidden mouse traps to surprise/deter them as they dig but the feral cats around here do not care that the soil under their butt explodes when they do their job.

I am not going after them, rather they are coming to me, and based on that, I have absolutely no problem with dispatching them to their final destination.

But before I take it to that level I thought I would see if any of you have any suggestions.

And to the cat lovers who will respond, unless you are willing to come here, round them up and remove them, I really am not interested in your opinion of how cruel I am. You see, I am protecting my family from the parasites these vermin carry and when it comes to my family, Bye, Bye, Kitty.

So any and all suggestions will be considered and most likely tried but in the end...

  • home inspection question?

So we purchased a Mobile Home outright a month and a half ago. We had well regarded home inspection firm for the home inspection. The seller provided a home warranty.

We began having some problems with the forced heat. We had the home warranty people send out a HVAC tech.

He let us know that the heating unit is non-standard for a mobile home and had to have been installed without permits. Due to this, the Home Warranty firm says that they will not honor the warranty until we have replaced the unit with the proper unit. Cost: about $3,000.

Additionally we were informed that this type of configuration will invalidate our home owners insurance for any claims related to the heating unit.

We would love any and all suggestions about how best to proceed?

Obviously a lawsuit is the last thing we want to do and if we did, who would we sue?

The seller is a little old lady about 85 years old and we really don't want to sue her if we don't have to. We called the realtor and he is contacting his agent with the home warranty company as to why they will not honor the warranty.

The home inspection company has liability and O&E insurance however their limits are not spelled out on our documents.

So what do you all think?

    Thanks in advance.

  • What is the final cost of a mobile home?

We are looking to purchase a mobile home. Now I know that every transaction is an individual deal and every locality has their own regulations and schedules. But what I would like to know, in round numbers, is after you add in taxes, fees, commissions, etc, what should I expect to pay in total? In other words, if the mobile is worth $50,000 should I assume that the extras will eat another 25% or 12,500 which would mean I really need to plan for $62,500? Just in case, we live in California in Alameda County.

  • A Paleo Diet Question?

So for the last few months I have been converting to the Paleo Diet. It is amazing how difficult it is to get grains out of your diet and I realize that I will not be able to entirely eliminate them. Here is my question. Which would be better for lunch. A sandwich made of 1 slice of sourdough bread cut in half or a sandwich made into a flour tortilla roll-up. Everything else on the sandwich is Paleo.

  • Nikon D7000 Question?

    I just upgraded my D50 to a D7000 and I have a question.

On the D50, when I took a photo, it appeared immediately on the display screen.

Now with the D7000, I take the shot and it goes into memory but it does not show on the display unless I press the Play button.

Did I miss something in the setup or is this normal behavior for the camera?

And by the way, this is really a very cool piece of technology.

  • I have a RAW question?

I finally figured it out and I now shoot only in RAW.

    My question is this,

Is it better to have my camera set for just standard output and make my manipulations at the computer or should I manipulate at the camera and then also enhance at the computer.

I am talking about things like sharpness, saturation, hue, contrast, etc.
