The question is: Write with integer denominator

Can someone please show working for me to understand it (and hopefully have an approach to the other similar questions).

1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoHow should I approach this? One of my female friends is being rude to my girlfriend.?
This female friend of mine (K) is an old dance partner. We never went out or anything like that, but used to dance together at salsa parties. Now that I have a girlfriend (for the past 6 months) and K has come back to the salsa group, K is now ignoring my gf. She says Hi to me, but never says Hi to my gf or even looks at her. She pretends that my gf doesn't exist. Now, K and I have been friends/friendly for many years and I don't want to upset anyone. I'm wary that if I confront K openly about it, things might get worse. How do I get K to be more civil to my girlfriend without causing a major scene?

6 AnswersFriends1 decade agoHow do I train my cat to use the litter box properly?
I have newly acquired a 15 month old cat from the RSPCA (Animal Welfare). He is a lovely fellow, spayed and micro-chipped and already seems to know what to do with his litter-box. However this morning (day 2) he seems to have this Schrödinger's cat poop thing happening - that is to say, he's done 2 IN the box and 1 OUT of the box (just on the edge) overnight.
Any suggestions as to how I encourage him to keep it all INSIDE the box or do I have to wake up overnight to clean his litter-box out? I'm sure he'd be pleased to have me trained to do THAT, but I'm not so keen on having my sleep interrupted!
12 AnswersCats1 decade agoIn the Latin sentence "sunt in villa multi servi, multae servae." what does the multae servae mean?
This is from Ecce Romani (book 1) 4 Show-off! I've pretty much got the rest of it sorted.
... ecce! ambulat in muro, nam temerarius puer est Sextus. clamat "magnus puer sum. spectate me!" Marcus et puellae spectant et rident. Davus quoque spectat, sed non ridet.
sunt in villa multi servi, multae servae. hodie tamen Davus in horto laborat solus. defessus est et iracundus, quod dies est calidus...
Look! He walks on the wall, for Sextus is a reckless boy. He shouts "I am a big fellow. Look at me!" Marcus and the girls look and laugh. Davus (Dave) also looks, but he does not laugh.
There are many slaves on the estate, [multae servae]. Today, however, Davus works alone in the garden. He is tired and irritable because the day is hot.
I don't think the multae servae needs to be there, but it doesn't make sense to me. Servus is 2nd declension and so I don't know why it has a -ae ending. Is this supposed to signify many slaves male AND female? Or is there something I'm missing here?
3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoWITHOUT USING QUADRATIC FORMULA please solve x^2-7x+5 = 0?
Sorry guys - I can do this one easily with quadratic formula
x = (-b +/- SQRT(b^2-4ac)) / 2a
but my daughter's math's teacher has specifically asked for WITHOUT quadratic formula and this one's a bit beyond me. Help please!
11 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoShould Australia get the F18 "Super Hornet" or perhaps go for one of the new Sukhoi's so prevalent in Oceana?
The Australian Defence Minister has been accused of doing a complete turn-about on his previous accusations that the outgoing government were wrong to arrange for the purchase of the F18 Super Hornets. He now claims that the Super Hornets (after a full examination and briefing) are the best all-round fighter aircraft and is going ahead with the purchase. His decision has been criticised by some prominent senior defence force members who say the Sukhoi outflies, outclimbs and outaccelerates the Super Hornet. It certainly has a better top speed. The Defence Minister is on about the Super Hornet having better radar, but seems a little out of his depth.
Actually I'm not sure if they are talking about the Su34 (Fullback) or the latest in the Flanker series. The Flankers certainly are very aerobatic planes!
What should Australia buy - and WHY?
5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoI have had to erase my daughter's Acer Travelmate 2410 and reinstall windows xp but now the sound is gone!
The Windows XP disc is bona fide. I have looked at the sound settings in the Control Panel. It says there is no sound device. I have tried to get Install New Hardware to find it but it just tellsme that there are 2 things called Audio Codec and they appear to be working properly.
Sound was working well prior to the format and re-install. The notebook is a bog-standard Acer TravelMate 2410.
Can anyone help me get the sound working again?
11 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoI have been asked to provide a character reference letter ...?
by an ex-gf. We share children and have been good friends for 15 years. My inclination is to keep that side of things out of it and to write it as if I'd just been friends with her for 15 years. What do you guys think. Should I mention the relationship or not?
9 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoWhere does Gimli, son of Gloin, keep getting his axes from?
In the movies he breaks one in Rivendell and then he breaks another one in Fangorn Forest when he throws it at Gandalf.
He seems to be portrayed as carrying a double headed axe across his back and holding a single headed axe.
2 AnswersMovies1 decade agoHow do I choose between these girls?
Okay - last night I was playing keyboards at a gig. After the gig I got caught up with a group of people and there were these two girls who both seemed quite keen. They were both spending time hanging around, asking me lots of questions about myself and chatting a lot. They are both single and gorgeous. They seemed very nice girls.
AW spent a lot of time holding my hand, wanting me to teach her how to play stuff on the piano. Beautiful strawberry blonde. Slim and tall (as tall as me!). As we walked out she was holding my hand and being generally very friendly.
SL was also hanging around while I was playing piano, asking me to play stuff and singing while I played, coming up and cuddling up behind me. She made some comment about me possibly being her "future husband" to another girl in the group. She has light brown hair and is a bit more curvy than AW. She's a smoker (on my list of no-no's) but I've been having a bit of a mental wrestle about whether I could make an exception!

calling the police periodically to make demands etc. I think it had Bill Murray in it.
5 AnswersMovies1 decade agoIn Robert Frost's poem "My November Guest" he mentions a "grady" - what is a grady? (& provide sources please)
My Sorrow, when she's here with me
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be.
She loves the bare, the withered tree
She walks the sodden pasture lane.
Her pleasure will not let me stay
She talks and I am fain to list
She's glad the birds are gone away,
She's glad her simple worsted grady
Is silver now with clinging mist.
The desolate, deserted trees
The faded earth, the heavy sky
The beauties she so ryly sees,
She thinks I have no eye for these
And vexes me for reason why
Not yesterday I learned to know
This love of bare November days
Before the coming of the snow
But it were vain to tell her so
And they are better for her praise
-Robert Frost
It's clothing of some kind. Perhaps some english lit professor or someone who knows about medieval garments could clue me in.
Cheers!
