  • Is there a schedule or program that can email me to warn me windows updates are coming?

Every time windows updates happen, my mom freaks out and yells for hours. I want a warning so I can leave the house. I will pay money for a service that warns me ahead of time.

  • Do the keys on Alienware M14x pop out cleanly?

I just got this computer. I use a dvorak layout, so I'd like to rearrange the keys, but I've never had a keyboard with lighting before and am unsure of whether or not that effects anything. Is it safe to pop the keys out?

  • Is a major drop in resting heart rate something to be concerned about?

For years, my resting heart rate was high 80's to low 90's. This week, I've noticed it's low to mid 60's. Admittedly, I'm currently replacing a fair amount of sleep with red bull, but I wouldn't expect that outcome from it. Should I be concerned with this change?

  • Does MA 2 party consent law apply to lectures when kept completely private?

I use a livescribe pen to take notes, and it records audio and links it to what I was writing at the time. It's totally private, and only for the purpose of taking notes. I don't want to ask the whole class if it's okay for each class, because odds are, 1 in 100+ people will say no. I'd like to know whether that's legally required or not, though it is clearly good practice.

  • Is the indoors of a state university considered public for the purposes of photography?

There are some annoying students at my school who have been taking photos of people for fun against their will and putting them on facebook. Does this mean a commuter cannot do homework on campus without giving away their right to not be photographed?

  • Cookie dough martini recipe/nutrition info?

I saw Holmes in the Showcase Cinema theater (Lux level) and bought a cookie dough martini there, which is a special for that movie. I found some other recipes, but not the right one. It had irish cream and a godiva liquor, hazelnut something or other and some other stuff. I mainly want to know how many calories it is, but the actual recipe and nutritional info would be great!

  • What might be the cause of my leg pain?

I don't have a doctor and am working on getting one, but I have this severe leg pain in my lower leg (front and back) that happens when I walk a block quickly or 2 blocks slowly. I feel like my muscles are tightening around my bone more and more until I have to stop walking because I'm not sure I can take another step. This has developed over the summer, and I had no leg injuries to cause it. It's on both legs. Has anyone had this happen? If so, what did you do to get better?

  • Could Billy Mays talk normally?

I only ever heard him yelling at me to buy stuff, and I have always wondered if he could talk normally. No one I've asked so far has known!

  • Which channel would be best for my wifi? (read more details)?

My wifi had been having interference issues. I can't plug in, so it matters. I got Vistumbler, and it shows that mine is on channel 11 (100% signal atm), there's another on 11 (18% signal), another on 6 (36% signal), a dead linksys on 6 (0% signal, might change, not sure), another on 1 (24% signal), a dead one on 10 [why 10? really!] (0% signal, again, not sure if this changes), and another on 1 (48% signal).

I JUST got the program, so I've only looked while my wifi was working, so I'm not sure what changed yet. I'll update this if I figure out what changes. I was just wondering what channel would be best for me, since I sometimes have to reset mine a couple times a day due to it getting messed up and it's really annoying.

  • In MA, what makes it so someone counts as an extra person who has to pay rent?

I mean, If I and my friend are renting a 2 bedroom apartment and my boyfriend stayed over a lot (but is not on the lease or giving me money or anything), what would make him count as a resident? (Citation please!) I heard that it was if half of their clothes were there, but I can't find any record of this. I just want to avoid needing to pay for an extra person (he does have a house too, but the apartment is convenient to stay at as it's closer to campus)

  • Why would it be a problem to uninstall in "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel?

I had problems with this program, and I and my boyfriend (I use his laptop) agreed to uninstall it and reinstall the newer version (we couldn't find the patch for it). I open "Add/Remove Programs" and am about to fix it myself when he flips out, logs me out (as the game isn't installed on my account so he can't do it his way there), logs in, and looks for the uninstall file it came with. It's an online flash based game, so nothing is saved on the computer or anything (no custom uninstall), and he wouldn't give me a reason for this except "It's my computer and it's how I do things on it". Is there a reason to do it his way, or is he just being stubborn and stupid?
