  • How do I get my DVD player to work without TV remote?

I have an RCA TV, model F36689 that I have lost my remote control for. I want to hook up a dvd player to it, but cannot get it to work. The dvd player works fine, I tested it on another tv. All I have to control the tv are the buttons on front - Power, Channel, Volume, & Menu. Does anyone know how to get up the tv so I can use the dvd player with it. Thanks?

  • Does anyone have a recipe for a champagne cork?

Years ago, I had a bakery item called a champagne cork at a cafe in Helsinki, Finland. Basically, it was a sponge cake shaped like a champagne cork that had been drenched in champagne. It was so good! I have tried to duplicate the recipe at home, but I can't get it quite right. I am obviously missing something, but I have no idea what. Has anyone ever had this before? Does anyone have a recipe, or does anyone know where I could purchase some of these? I remember how good they were and get these sudden cravings for one. I would love to have one again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • I need help remembering the title of a Queen song?

Oddly, I can remember the video perfectly. They performed the song on the back of a flatbed rail car on a moving train. I remember really liking the song, but I can't remember the name of it to save my life! It's driving me nuts trying to remember it. None of my friends remember it - you guys are my last hope. Help a girl out, please!

  • I need some fantasy baseball advice?

With Chase Utley coming of the DL, I have a dilemma. Obviously Ultey will start at second, but where do I put Brian Roberts? I have one spot open for a utility player, currently filled by Adrian Beltre. (David Wright is my third baseman) Do I switch Beltre for Roberts? Beltre is hot right now and Seattle is fighting for a playoff spot. Roberts is probably a better overall player, but the Orioles are done. How much weight to I give a hot player on a hot team? Am I missing something, or am I over thinking this and should I just go with the better player? Any advice would be welcome.

  • Does anyone remember this TV show?

I'm DESPERATELY trying to remember the name of this TV show. It was on about 5 or so years ago and lasted for maybe 5 or 6 episodes. The show was about a team of archaeologists who were searching for certain artifacts. One episode had them in a cave in Antarctica trying to get some sort of statue. The leader of the team was a guy and his teenage son wound up traveling with them and finding out what his Dad really did. The archaeologists didn't work for the government directly, but there was a government agency involved somehow in the search for these artifacts. The was also a rival team trying to acquire the same artifacts at the same time. There were all sorts of "DaVinci Code" type clues and the whole show had a kind of "X Files" vibe to it. It must not have got good ratings, because it was cancelled pretty quickly, but I really enjoyed it. It's driving me nuts trying to remember what it was called. For some reason, I think it started with an "A", but I may be wrong. HELP!

  • Can headphones be used with a computer?

I'll admit it, I am not the most computer savy person. Can I plug a pair of portable headphones into the speaker jack on the back of my PC? If not, does anyone have any suggestions for keeping the sound without disturbing others? Thank you.

  • How long is apple cider vinegar good for?

While cleaning out the dark recesses of my pantry, I have discovered an opened bottle of apple cider vinegar. Heaven knows how old it is, but since vinegar is basically wine that has already turned (and wine is fermented juice), can it get any worse? Is it still safe to use? I know it won't kill me to buy a new bottle (and I probably will anyway) but I am curious. Thanks!

  • I need help finding the title of a British mystery novel?

    I picked up a book at a yard sale and lost it before I could finish it. This is what I know;

    - The author is a man and is British

    - The word "smoke" was in the title

    - The main character was a cat burgler named Jethro who is being blackmailed by the British government.

    - The book takes place in London shortly after WWII

    - I think it may be part of a series because there were references to earlier events that the author seemed to feel that the reader would be aware of.

I know it's not a lot to go on. I've stumped the folks at the local Barnes and Noble. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give. The book was very good and I was really enjoying it until I misplaced it. Thanks in advance to everyone.

  • I need some fantasy football advice, please?

We had our draft this morning, and this is how my team shakes out this year: (12 team league)

    QB - D. Culpepper

    RB - L. Johnson

    RB - B. Westbrook

    WR - C. Johnson

    WR - C. Chambers

    TE - D. Clark

    K - J. Brown

    DST - Jaguars

    Bench - D. Brees, C. Taylor, D. Stallworth, B. Troupe, J. Scobee, Giants DST

Needles to say, I'm pretty pleased with my starters, but I'm concerned about my bench. It seems pretty thin to me. Should I try to upgarde, or am I over tinkering? Are my starters good enough to carry my bench players when I have to put them in? Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

In light of Team USA's poor showing in the World Cup, is this the next move for US Soccer? Should they replace Bruce Arena with Jurgen Klinsmann now that he is available?
