I recently experienced 2 or 3 power outages without warning, so that there was no opportunity to shut down my Windows 7 Dell PC computer first. Shortly after the most recent of these power outages, my computer stopped being able to open programs at all. I did a system restore to temporarily fix this problem, and then did several virus scans which revealed no threats at all. What do you think was the most likely cause of this problem, and do you recommend other types of diagnostic tests besides virus scans?
