Difficulty in learning multiple languages at once?
Hi, so right now I am learning German and I am trying to figure out what I want to do next semester. My major is German and I will be in second year German next year and a TESOL(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) minor, so I'd like to teach English abroad. But, I am also planning on learning Mandarin and Russian. So, next year I can take a Mandarin class at the same time as German, but I am wondering how difficult it would be to learn two languages at the same time and then the semester or year after, potentially three languages. I feel like I pick up languages rather quickly, but I know Mandarin is one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn. So, I was wondering if anybody has previous experience in learning multiple languages at the same time or suggestions on how I should spread out studying for multiple languages. Thanks so much in advance!

2 AnswersMathematics10 years agoCould somebody translate this quote into German?
Hi, I've been learning German for a little bit and I came across this quote from Hebbel. I am assuming it was originally in German and translated to English, but I was wondering what it is in German.. thanks for the help.

5 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoHow Manageable is Learning Two Languages?
Well, right now I'm a senior in high school and I am dual enrolling in my first german class at a local college. I am trying to get an idea of my college schedule, so I'm wondering how manageable it would be to take both french and german... would it be better if I focused on german now, then picked up french later? I plan on moving to Germany, so my goal is to be fluent in german, but I still want another language, and I figure french would be the next best thing. So, suggestions?
4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoCan I sign up to be put on the bone marrow donor registry?
Hi, so I'm looking to see if I can join the bone marrow donor registry. I'm 17 years old, relatively healthy (I meet the requirements on their page health wise), and donated blood on January 26. There is a bone marrow donor drive about 45 min away on February 14, and I'm wondering if I'd be able to sign up. My main concern is that I'm not 18, would I still be able to sign up if I had a parent come with me?
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoDo you have a favorite German poem?
Hi, I am wondering if any of you have a favorite poem in German... I am also looking for possible tattoo ideas(I wouldn't get it for a year or so, but I am just looking), so it would be nice if it were short, but I am also just interested in German in general, so just sharing a favorite poem would make me happy! :D
1 AnswerPoetry1 decade agoDoes Marinol, THC, Work?
Okay, I live in Michigan where medical marijuana is a big deal right now, and I am really confused why people don't just use the pill form of THC, Marinol, instead of the natural cannabis. Isn't Marinol safer and should still make the pain go away? I know there are some exceptions for seizures that Marinol can't subside, but I am starting to think people are just getting medical marijuana for the marijuana, not the medical. I mean, if Marinol does work, why not get stricter on who can use the natural marijuana and give others that need it the Marinol? I think it would be smarter, even though I already know how readily available marijuana normally is... but, I just think this would be a smarter idea because they stopped medical marijuana here and a lot of people are complaining. Just wondering your thoughts and how well Marinol has worked either through experimentation or maybe experience. Thanks.
Alternative Medicine1 decade agoWhat should I wear sledding?
Alright, I am 17, a guy, and I'm going sledding today, but I don't really have any sledding stuff. It is super cold out (10°F), like... I have gloves and a hat, but I don't have any waterproof pants or a normal winter coat. I only own a peacoat and sweatshirts... can I wear a peacoat sledding? Should I just wear jeans? I don't really have any sweatpants either, because if I want to dress comfy I just wear shorts. I am most concerned with the pants, because I think I can get away with wearing my peacoat... any help?
2 AnswersSnow Skiing1 decade agoWhat kind of career could I have with these majors or minors?
Hello, I'm currently a senior in high school and next year will be going to Michigan State University. Right now I have two major interests, Genetics and foreign languages, in particular German and French. So, if I were to major in Genomics then either major or minor in German, French, or linguistics what kind of jobs could I get? I had originally been thinking I would just get a career in Genetic research then just happen to know German, but never use it more than maybe studying abroad, but the more I study German the more I love it. Are there many careers or jobs, if any, open to where I would be able to utilize all of these skills?
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat film camera should I get?
Hello. So, here is the situation. I am 17 and already into photography and own a Canon 40d, but I really want a film camera for my birthday, mainly because I want to challenge myself and see what more I can learn from using film. I really like the look of cameras like the Canon AE-1 and Nikon FM10, so I would like something that look like that, but I am looking for something under $200. I would also like either a 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.7, so if it comes in a kit, it would be even better. I guess I am kind of looking for a manual camera, so I don't need all of the technology, just a quality light meter because I want it to be as basic as possible.

8 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoFIFA 10 Soundtrack song?
Okay, I want to know what song this is, because I can't find it! It goes something like, "Tell the people all the people the places we should go" and then, "Tell the world tell the world...." I don't know if it exactly like that, but that is close.
1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoWhy are a lot of religious people so oblivious?
Okay, so I hate directing this question at one religion, but just wondering. I guess I would be considered Atheist, but I don't like defining myself with barriers. Yet, I was attracted to a Christian youtube channel that was full of Christian music videos and I was just amazed that the people almost seemed hypnotized. I guess to me it is not even a question of how I was brought to be, and it in no way involved a god. So, I guess I am just wondering how it is that some people can just be so incredibly oblivious to everything. I am not saying this includes all Christians, or religions in general, but I just do not understand how people can deny so much evidence backing up things like the Big Bang and evolution.

3 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoQuestion on a religious person's point of view on same-sex marriage?
*Please, if you are not religious do not answer this, I just want to see a religious person's thought process of same-sex marriage.
If you are religious and whether or not you believe same-sex marriage is right or wrong, please explain to me your thought process. I am an open homosexual male and I cannot grasp onto the reason behind people believing I should not be allowed to marry the person I love. I live in Michigan where there are very strict laws, including same-sex couples cannot be parents of an adopted child and there is no recognition to homosexual couples in anyway, including civil unions.
*Note*- I am not trying to be confrontational, just explain your thought process to me and tell me why I should not be allowed to marry.
28 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs Pokémon Silver/Gold becoming popular in your area?
Okay, so for some reason the new Pokémon is becoming really popular at my high school. I have noticed a lot of people with the Pokéwalkers and I am just really surprised of the sudden comeback. One of my really good friends is playing and I didn't even know he had a DS. But, I have been looking into it, and it looks really cool oddly enough. I loved the original ones when I was around 6 or so, and stopped playing them somewhere around when I turned 9 or 10. I just think it is really cool of it's comeback, and if I should see if I can get a DS, just because I am kind of jealous and want it. But, is this epidemic happening anywhere else?
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoPS3 or Xbox 360? Which one?
Ok, so I have already had two Xbox 360s. I just got the E-74 error, and on my last one I got an Unreadable Disk on everything. I am wondering if I should just transition to the PS3. Does the PS3 get all of the possible errors like the Xbox 360? Also, does the PS3 have a lot of the games and online stuff like the 360? I don't really play Halo 3 but, yea.
