So I have 4GB ram installed and BIOS is detecting all of it. But when I go to my computer settings, it is saying 2.8GB. I had onboard graphics at that time and knew it must be taking some of the RAM. Then I just installed a graphics card (Zotac GeForce 9500GT has 1GB ram) and it is now at 2.5GB! I thought adding a graphics card will increase my available ram.

I checked both device manager and BIOS and they are saying the integrated VGA is disabled and that it is only showing the 9500GT. The graphics card is 1GB -- does that mean it has 1GB ram on it or that it will take 1GB of my ram??

I have been trying to solve this for over 20 minutes now and don't know how.

so, then I calculate f to be 452Hz (noise moving away) and 559.4Hz (noise moving towards). My online homework is telling me that both values are correct.

My question is, how do I model sound using this formula: y=Asinwt A=amplitude w=omega

I can solve for w, but how in the hell do I find amplitude? Apparently amplitude is not directly related with any of the above information.

After my motherboard blew out, I am upgrading to a new one. How will this affect my hard drive? I hear that you will have to reinstall Windows operating system on that same hard drive for a new motherboard? My current hard drive has Windows Vista installed onto it, but I only have a Windows XP Pro CD. Running XP instead of Vista is not a problem for me, it will just make my computer run faster. The problem is, will I lose all my files if I install XP onto the Hard drive/motherboard instead of Vista? Should I back up all my files onto a different hard drive before installing XP or will it just transfer the files over? I have a lot of important stuff I do not want to lose on my hard drive.

Hi, I have an HP slimline s3137c. I have done some research but am having trouble finding a compatible aftermarket motherboard (mine went out). I just replaced the stock power supply with a KDM 270W unit. The stock motherboard is an Asus M2NC51-AR also known as HematiteXL-GL8E. It has an AM2 socket and has a form factor of Micro-ATX: 19.0 cm (7.5 inches) x 17.0 cm (6.7 inches).

If anyone can send me a link to an aftermarket motherboard that is compatible with my slimline, it would be greatly appreciated.

I live in California and have a lien against me because my father found a loophole to paying rent for months when I was 15. Long story but my father lost in court and now I have a writ of execution against me etc even though I was a minor and with 50% custody at the time. I am turning 18 in a week and would like to know how to hide my money so my father's previous landlord cannot garnish my funds from one of my bank accounts.

I talked to a teller at one of my banks and he told me to put my money into a cashier's check. But if my creditor found out or simply went to my bank and asked if I had a cashier's check to be garnished (I have no idea what the actual process is) could he do so?

I researched that you can take someone's travelers check if the creditor knows which bank it is drawn from etc. but does this rule apply to cashier's checks? If not, is there any other way I can 100% safely protect my money from being garnished without just carrying cash?

Hi, so here is a little background information first. I live in California. My parents are divorced and at the time they had 50/50 custody of me. My father, being a conman, lived in a luxurious house which he could not afford rent. He is self employed in the real estate market. For months my father could not pay rent and kept filing motions to keep him in the house without paying for as long as possible. His landlord filed a judgment against him and won. But the thing is, the judgment he filed for applies not only to my father, but against me and my 3 siblings (3 out of 4 were minors at the time) who were also partially living there at the time. Now all 5 of us are entitled to owe $12,390.00. I was 15 at the time the motion was placed. Not only did I have nothing to do with my father's debt but I was struggling to get full custody with my mother and leave my father and now I am responsible to pay his rent debt! The landlord filed for a writ of execution so now he can go after my bank accounts and any titles I may possess.

I am 17 now and will be a legal adult in less than 3 months. I have heard anything from suing my father to filing bankruptcy to deal with this situation. Please, I really need advice. Should I take legal action as a minor or wait until I am 18? Whom should I file a suit with or should I file bankruptcy?

Hi, I am now working out everyday and would like to see if any educated persons has comments to improve my weekly workout routine. Should I workout anything differently, take any different supplements pre/post workout? Any help would be great.

Day 1: Weight lifting

-Pre workout supplements: Black Powder (Creatine) right before lifting, Mostly Protein and some Carbs (from meals earlier in the day)

-Post Workout supplements: 2 servings of Whey protein (48g protein, 11g BCAA, 8g Glutamine total), 1 serving L-Glutamine 5.5g (with 500mg MSM)... Should I also be adding Dextrose supplement to the mix?

Workout: All of upper body: Chest, Triceps, All of back, Abs, Biceps, shoulders...

Hours: 1.5-2hrs with a buddy switching off, we usually do for example 4-5 sets of bench press each then move on and keep doing 4-5 sets of everything targeting every upper muscle group.

Day 2:

Pre workout supplements: Mostly Carbs and some Protein (from meals earlier in the day),

Post workout supplements: Twice as many carbs than protein from eating things like bagels/bread plus milk with small amounts of protein shake mix. Should I be taking Dextrose post Cardio?

Workout: Completely Cardio. I like to run for 5 miles within 1 hour. I am slowly starting to run longer distances at longer times like 6miles within 1hr10mins. Nothing else besides running.

Hours: 1-1.5 hrs.

Day 3:

Pre workout: (Same as Day 1)

Post workout: (Same as Day 1)... should I add dextrose?

Workout: Lower body Weight lifting. I have only been doing day 1/2 switching every other day but am now going to start doing Day 3. I plan on starting with Squats switching off with my friend 4-5 sets total then doing other like Leg press and a few other machines targeting lower body.

Any recommendations for lower body workout exercises?.. I want to make sure I cover EVERY lower muscle group on this day.

Hours: plan on 1.5-2 (same as Day 1)

Heres how the plan works. Every day I workout. Right now I have been switching off Day 1 and Day 2 in sequence. But now I plan on incorporating day 3 by doing this: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 2 and so forth (Switching off weight lifting with cardio.) But after a couple weeks I plan on Combining Day 1 and 3 so it will be a 3hr weight lifting workout followed by a 1.5-2hr cardio (hopefully I will last that long running by then). So I will be switching off cardio with lower/upper body weight lifting.

Few extra questions after reading the above:

-Is it bad to workout your entire upper body and lower body in one workout routine?

-Is it bad to take Creatine EVERY time I lift weights, 3-4 times a day, (I can get easily discouraged and want to stop without it).

Again, any comments/help to improve anything about my workout exercises, time/days, supplements etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, so this morning I woke up to find my left eyelid swollen. It was just fine yesterday. It is not a bug bite (is not itchy) but is sore. I have no clue what the cause is but what should I do?

Hello, 9 days ago both my dogs were hit by a car. As my mother opened the door to let my sister's friend inside, they darted out and into the streets and were suddenly hit. After my mother scooped them up from moaning/crying on their backs in the street, she carried them inside. Then one of my dogs died seconds later in my mother's arms. The other dog had a broken leg and her pelvis was pushed out of alignment and broken in 5 places but survived the incident with critical surgery.

We have been mourning my dog that passed for days and days. She was the sweetest and most affectionate dog you could imagine, taken from her mother at an early age but only made us love her even more. She acted like a small human baby and we treated her as a family member with huge amounts of affection and love. I also feel just horrible about my dog that survived because she lost her sister and they grew up together since they were puppies. She has been depressed for a week (I can see it in her eyes and sense the vibe) but she is slowly getting back to her old energetic happy self. My dog that survived was the motherly figure while my dog that passed was the cared for "baby" (though they were both about 1 years old).

Anyways, the other day 4:00am in the morning, my mother (caring for my other now crippled dog) walked into the kitchen and spotted a small blue light. She did not get a fearful vibe at all and she noted that the light moved in between the refrigerator and counter under a broom and disappeared a couple seconds later.

I only live with my mother and she is not against it but will not sign for me. I will continue to smoke weather or not I have a cannabis card for my insomnia. I would love the legal security of knowing I won't get arrested for taking medicine, not to abuse it.

Hi, is it worth it to buy a 1998 Firebird: TA LS1? The LS1 engine has 70k miles on it while the body has near 90k. Some of the details are:

-6 speed transmission-SLP Dual/Dual exhaust-Eibach Sportline Springs- 35% tint on sides, 5% on back- TA WS6 17" wheels with new Yokohama tires-clean

I am going to look at it in a couple days. He is asking 7000 but I am going to offer 6k. I know there are low miles on the engine and decent on the body, but is it worth it at this day and age to buy a 12 year old car? Or should I wait and save for something like a newer Dodge Neon SRT4 or an RX8 (though I hear rotaries get problems quickly)

So I got a job over the summer where you can't really file for a work permit because it's not during the school year. I'm 16 and I have been working at my job for 3 months now. On my application It says 3 other places I've worked at, but all were under the table (my father, family friend's businesses etc.).

I suppose my manager assumed I have a work permit because of my prior experience. I planned on getting one once school started but It didn't occur to me since I was already working.

Can me and my manager get in trouble event though its only been a few months? Is it too late to file for one without getting penalized or something. Should I just wait until I'm 18? Or should I just not worry and ignore it.

Background Info: So I listed a laptop up on eBay. I've done some research as to what same model goes for and its around 200-300. So I listed it up along with a case and an external adapter for 600 obo.

Expecting that logically most people would lowball offer or offer maybe 300+, I would then sell it for that price. But someone bought it out for $600 instantly.

Problem: The guy who bought it has 2 feedback. One of the feed back is a negative stating that he never (as a buyer) paid for some other guy's item. The other is a positive but with a later added details stating that he never got feedback from the guy. Both are feedback from buying not selling.

Now the second he bought it out for 600 (a little odd off the bat) he sent me an E-check. Now obviously I should wait for it to clear which I will, but I am a little worried he might try to pull something. He paid for insurance so maybe hes going to do some insurance fraud or he's going to say it was significantly not what I listed - in both cases he would get 600 dollars and keep my laptop.

I don't care what type of scam he might possibly do as long as he won't manipulate paypal and try to take back his money after it clears.

Resoltuion?: If anyone has any help to ensure I am fully "Seller-Protected" please help me out. I know to wait till it clears, to add on insurance and delivery confirmation, but are there any other procedures to ensure a safe transaction?

I've gotten an offer on eBay for an item but he wants to know if I can ship to his "APO" address.

I do not care as long as I am under the seller protection in case he files a claim for his money back or something.

It's for $450 too, so I don't want to take any chances of possibly getting screwed over.

I got caught driving some friends and got my license suspended for 30 days among other things. 3 Things I had to do is community service for 18 hours (not due till 11/3) and attend a 'Smart Start" program at 8/16 but I've missed it because my mom was sick.

I am scheduled to go back to court 9/4 to get my license back. Can I still get it even though I didn't do the stupid "Smart start" crap?

I bought Red alert 3 and have been playing it just fine on my laptop. But I sold my laptop and tried to install it using the CD on my vista computer and it won't work. I found out that my DVD drive cannot read dvd's so it won't even show on my computer that there is even a CD in the drive.

So the question is, how can I install it on my computer without the CD. I have purchased the game and I have an account I'm not trying to get a free copy or any illegal **** I just want to play the game I paid for.

I was pulled over last night for having 5 day old expired tags. I am 16 and I had two passengers in the car (I've only had my license for two months). Not to mention it was also past curfew. On the ticket it has two things written, one for the tags and another for provisional both indicated as an infraction.

My question is, how much is this going to cost me, do I have to go to traffic school and am I going to get my license suspended?

Well this morning I scanned eBay and saw an auction I wanted to bid on. Usually i bid within the last couple minutes but the end time was during school.

The auction was at $330 and I bid $413 as a max bid. I come home today to find out the the auction ENDED at $413. I am pissed because I did not expect it to reach near that or even the exact price.

My question is that can other hack ebay or find out your Maximum bid? This is the third time I have max bid an amount that ends EXACTLY on my max bid.

I'm thinking either the seller is finding out about my Max Bid and using an alt eBay account to match it

OR

eBay is corrupt and has little mods that bid up to people's maximum and make it look like real people are actually bidding on it. eBay would result in getting more $$$ because the auction would sell for more $$, therefore ebay would get a bigger cut.

Now that this is especially the third time it happened to me on the EXACT amount, I'm pretty sure it just wasn't any coincidence.

Has anyone else experienced this?? Please help me out.
