  • Should we break up, take a break, or try to work it out?

I feel silly posting this on yahoo answers but I would like some unbiased opinions from strangers. My boyfriend and I have been together for 2.5 years but we've been friends for 4 years. We love and respect one another very much and we get along very well. I'm 24 and he's 23. We used to live in the same city and we were very happy while we were together. This August, he moved away to get his PhD even though he had a full-time job offer in the city where I live. I respect his decision to move because his PhD is something he really wants. We decided to do a LDR and it hasn't been going well. He's uproariously busy and I'm getting my PhD too but I'm done with classes, so I have more time to miss him. He's not prioritizing our relationship and he's admitted as much. I don't think I'm the type of person who can handle not being his priority when he is my priority. And he really doesn't have the time to spend time with me. I spend time with my friends too, I'm not a needy hermit, I just need more love from him. We talked about this and there's really not much we can do at this point. But I don't want to give up on something that is great when we're together. I also don't want to resent him or waste my 20's (I'll be 29 by the time he gets his PhD) waiting for him. Is love enough to make this work?

  • My betta stopped making bubbles. Is he unhappy?

My betta stopped making bubbles when I moved him from a 2.5 gal bowl to a 5.5 gal tank with a sponge filter (no current). He swims around but mostly just stares at the filter. He has plants to rest on, plenty of places to play in and hide, and the temp is around 78 degrees. He used to make very large bubble nests in the bowl and now he no longer makes them. Does that mean he s unhappy??

  • Game of thrones: What is the fist of the first men?

I hear them talking about it, but maybe I missed the episode where they explained it. No spoilers please, I haven't reached that far in the books yet ^_^

    Thanks :)

  • Can a Catholic take part in a Protestant communion?

I go to a Protestant school and they're having an optional communion service later on this month. I would like to go to see how protestants celebrate communion (plus many of my friends will be there). I know that Catholics shouldn't take non-Catholic communion and accept it as the Eucharist. While some protestants do, I know that they don't belive in Jesus' true presence in communion. So if I dont treat it like the Eucharist (because, it's not!), then should I take it?

    Sorry if that's confusing.

    Thanks!

  • Are Christians expected to only marry other Christians?

In the Old Testament, Jews weren't allowed to marry non-Jews, even though they sometimes did anyway, and God wasn't all too happy about that. Are Christians supposed to hang on to that value, or was that a tradition that was washed away after Jesus came in and laid down the new law?

    Curious that's all :)

  • Easy Question!! Does the Song of Ice and Fire series end?

I love the tv show and now I wanna read the books. I intend to read them all in one shot over Christmas break when I actually have some time to read for fun ^_^. I just don't wanna be left hanging at the end, because I never remember books long enough to wait a year for the next installment and it always just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth if a series never ends. Does he end the series or is it still going?

    Thanks :)))

  • What's the difference between Episcopalian Eucharist and Catholic Eucharist?

I'm Catholic and I always thought that Orthodox Christians and Catholics were the only ones to celebrate the Eucharist, but I saw in an ad for an Episcopal church that said they had Eucharist every Sunday.

Does it mean the same thing, or do Episcopalians consider it representational of his body and blood, not actually? Or is it another thing completely with the same name? Just curious :)

    Thanks :)

  • Does anyone know what the math program is like at Barry University, Nova Southeastern, or FAU?

I really want to stay in South Florida, I don't wanna be more than a few hours from home (West Palm), and I am a math major. Does anyone know what the math program is like at any of these schools? or any other schools in the area with a good math program?

I'm a transfer by the way, with my AA.

Thanks to anyone who can help :)

  • Is it a sin to listen to anti-God music?

I don't mean non-Christian music about regular things. Like things that have a good beat and a great tune, but are saying how God isn't real & all religious people are awful (example: Kicking your crosses down by circa survive- I LOVE THAT SONG! but I like to tune out the words because it's saying bad things about people who believe in God) I hafta be honest, I don't like Christian music, it always sounds too knock-off-mainstream-y for me, but I feel a little guilty listening to bad music, even though I love it.

So in your opinion, do you think it's a sin? or is it okay as long as it's not effecting my beliefs (which it's not)?

please no mean answers, thanks :)

  • what do you need to become a school Speech Language Pathologist?

I've only just started researching it, and it seems like a job i might like. I would really love to work in a school in a smaller more personal setting than a classroom. Right now I'm going for a BS in biology (i was thinking about optometry for a while, but I don't know anymore), but I'm only going to be a junior in college this year so i can still switch it up without too much trouble. My school doesn't have a Masters in SLP program, but another (more expensive & much farther away) university does. I would really love to stay in my current university and transfer to the other for my masters. If this is possible, what do I need my Bachelors in? Education? Communications? Psychology?

Obviously I intend to do more research on the topic before I make it my career choice, but I would love to hear from anyone who went for or is currently going for SLP.

    Thanks so much :))

  • If an illegal immigrant commits a violent crime in America, are they deported?

I have nothing against illegal immigrants, I think they are brave to try to come to the US for a better life for them and for their families. I feel bad for them that it is difficult to get citizenship.

But I always wondered: If an illegal immigrant commits a crime, are they tried in an American court, are they sent to an American jail, and do they even have a right to an attorney, or other Miranda rights, if they are not a citizen? Or are they sent back to their native country?

Thanks to anyone who can help me. I'm simply curious. :)

Do you just put your arm up and wait? is there a trick for catching one? how do you know if its full or not? Do they take credit cards or cash? Can you give them a direct address or do you hafta give them a corner to drop you off at? How much do you tip? and is it included in the total price? Thanks so much!!!! :)

  • The past 2 months I've had irregular periods. Can your cycle change in your 20's?

    Hi girls.

okay so the past two months have been insanely weird for me. I have had regular periods since i was 12. I am usually between 28-30 days apart. usually 29 is my typical. The past two months have been 34 and 35. I know its only a few days but that is odd for me. I'm never that late. Also the past two months have had NO physical or emotional PMS symptoms (and to be honest, PMS usually hits me pretty hard). I'm 19, almost 20, I'm not having sex, not on BC, and I am having the same amount of stress as usual, which is just basic school stress. no weight change, no diet change, no new medications, I'm healthy, and I'm active. I just recently (in the past 6 months) have reached the age when i start to feel pain when I ovulate. I'm just kinda worried somethings wrong with me. Does anyone else know what this is? can your cycle change when you reach your twenties?

    Thanks :)

  • I am doing an audition for my musical theatre class. My song is "I enjoy being a girl"... any ideas?

    from flower drum song.

It's like a mock audition that we do as part of the show at the end of the semester. So its in front of my parents = super nerve-wracking!! We're allowed to have props and its only the 16 bar chorus so I need to be overly-girly to get my point across in only a minute.

I was thinking about wearing flowers in my hair and maybe curling it for the show, possibly holding an old fashioned hand mirror. I have a red dress and black leggings and red stilettos (which I will change out of later lol). Does anyone have any ideas???

btw here's the song- I'm just doing the last part though 4:17 to the end

Thanks soo much for any suggestions!!

  • My period's late. I'm def not pregnant, does anyone know what could be wrong?

I'm 19 and have never missed a period since I was 12. I'm on day 33, which is very unusual for me. I'm not bloated, my boobs don't hurt, I'm not breaking out, I have no cramps. that is REALLY unusual for me. I always have physical symptoms at least a week before. Does anyone know what could be wrong with me??? :( I'm not on BC (I don't need to be), I haven't lost or gained any weight, nor have I changed my eating habits. I'm starting to get nervous. Help? Much appreciated :)

  • I'm thinking of getting a tonsillectomy. What to expect?

I'm 19 and I don't exactly have the highest threshold for pain. I have had problems with my tonsils my whole life and now I want them out before we loose our health insurance. Of course, yahoo answers isn't gonna be my deciding factor lol but I just wanted to know what to expect from someone who gets them out when they're older. Do they put you under? How long are you out of commission? How long does it hurt? I'm a full time student, can I go to school within a few days (2 to be exact)?

    Thanks :))))
